Ok, I'm back from a ride and read all you all's response. I pretty much agree except for one point. At the start of this thread we all did not know each other, we did not chit chat, we yelled, and called names, and all that stuff, WHY was the abuse button never hit back then. Is that a new trend? Yeah some of the original posters left after awhile but that was more from just losing interest then that they left mad, I would say.

Remember we were not in the Religous Forum at first cause there was no such thing.

I think what happened was that the creation of the Forum and the growth of FR created a volitle mix. The Calvinists and Arminians would give as good as they would get.

The Mormons, however wanted no part of it, so the abuse reportings increased. The Calvinists, instead of taking the hint that the Mormons simply don't want to fight, kept egging them on and baiting.

And now, the Calvinists are in a snit cause they don't know when to say when.

Yeah that's right. I think all those articles on different church doctrines were just asking for trouble. They should have stuck with posting current news articles with a religious flavor. The doctrines would have been hashed out on those, but to have them posted as they have been as the main topic did no one any good, IMO.

My most public place was a phone booth, on the same block as the police station, on a bet from my friends. Of course I was 17 or 18 and drunk at the time...

Doug, does the name "Ernest L. Martin" mean anything to you?He used to be one of the WWCG's chief writers back in the 60's and 70's.

I have been reading some of his archives lately, and just found out he died a year ago.

He had headed up the Archeological dig in Jerusalem back then, and was well respected by many.

That those who believe it’s necessary to keep the Sabbath and the Levitical food laws, and Jewish holy days, are trying to pay God back in some way because they can’t believe that God would give them such a free gift, and not want them to do some work of the law to repay Him.
