The new ‘woke’ Pope blesses ice at a pagan ceremony even as Antarctica explodes with new ice

Despite being Jewish, I am a fan of the Catholic Church, as all students of history and lovers of the West should be. Despite missteps over the two thousand years of its existence (as must be true of all human institutions), the Church has been a positive force in the world. After all, beginning in 33 AD, the Church laid the foundation for the best of Western society.

Sadly, the current Pope doesn’t seem to be as big a fan of the Church as I am, given how he’s systematically gnawing away at its core values. His latest assault is a pagan ritual to bless ice, which is ironic, really, given that Antarctica is exploding with ice, despite Al Gore’s grim predictions.

X screen grab.

I don’t think I’m speaking hyperbolically when I say that Pope Leo, who was Pope Francis’s second in command, has proven to be a perfect fit for Francis’s communist legacy. After all, he was fine with a Chicago cardinal giving Sen. Dick Durbin, an enthusiastic abortion supporter, a lifetime achievement award. You’d think that long-term support for what’s effectively mass murder of the innocents would bother the Pope.

Leo also opposes the death penalty, claiming that to do so is actually a pro-life view. While I’m no doctrinal maven, I would argue that there is nothing pro-life about ignoring the Bible’s mandate that sentient adults who willfully destroy life should forfeit their lives. After all, as Paul wrote,

For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. (Romans 13:3-4)

Not sure what your point is, taking that scripture as posted standing alone justifies sinning against God when a ruler punishes those who do evil as they decide what is evil or good.

The verse is perfect but one needs to understand that good is defined by God not by man or institutions of man.

I think Pope was attempting a miracle: changing ice into water

Leo should be blessing ICE, not ice.

Of course, he is a White Sox fan, so he's obviously a slow learner.

Speaking of ice, AOC was recently quoted saying she “swallowed an ice cube and hasn’t pooped it out yet. Should she be concerned? Asking for a friend.

RE: a miracle: changing ice into water

Just leave it alone in that room and it will eventually happen.

Her chances of peeing it out are greater.

I, a Protestant, had hopes for Leo being back to being more Christian than leftist. Is anything in these articles about Leo and global warming taken out of context? Or is he another globalist pope?

Years ago, I went to see the National Symphony Orchestra perform a new piece of music at the Kennedy Center which featured a melting block of ice. The ice block sat behind the orchestra in a Plexiglas shroud and the rhythmic sound of drops melting from it was amplified to accompany the musicians. The piece had to do with the Arctic regions and the melting ice was somehow there to represent global warming, but I was not paying close enough attention to follow it exactly. Whatever the composer intended, it did not really work.

Ironically, what I came to see that night was a performance of Phillip Glass' Itaipu, a truly stirring work which celebrated the heroic engineering of building the world's largest hydroelectric dam on the Paraná River between Paraguay and Brazil. Check out the music on YouTube, it is almost never performed, and you will not regret spending the time to hear it.

Is not the fist time a Roman Catholic Pope was fundamentally wrong on some subject.

Old news. A new ice age is one of the best known and scientically validated effects of global warming.

This was known long before St. Greta was born.

That blob of ice looks like it weighs more than a talent.

Was there a ‘Hail’ Mary involved?

I expected to see a stadium full of Hockey players and fans. Guess I got it wrong.
