Steubenville, Ohio. A special 9-day Novena for the Conversion of Pope Francis will begin on December 8, 2024, and will run through December 17, 2024 (the birthday of Pope Francis), starting at 8:00 PM EST every night.
This prayer initiative, which invites Catholics worldwide to unite in prayer, is focused on securing the grace of conversion for Pope Francis. Our Lord said to Peter in Luke 22:32 “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren.”
Our prayer is focused on the prayer of Christ for Peter for the conversion of Pope Francis, so that as the Lord then turning looked on Peter, and Peter thereupon wept bitterly (cf. Luke 22, 61-62), so the Lord may mercifully turn and look on Pope Francis, who may then as well weep bitterly, and be thereupon able to confirm the entire Church in the Divine and unchanging Catholic Faith.
The novena will be live-streamed here:
There will be participants from all over the world coming together to pray at 8:00 PM EST each evening.
Here is a copy of the prayer:
O Lord Jesus Christ, You are the Good Shepherd! With your almighty hand you guide the church militant on earth through the storms of each age. Therefore, the boat of the Church remains unsinkable in the unheard of crisis, which in our day obfuscates the honor of the Holy See and the life of the entire Church.
O Lord, grant Pope Francis the grace neither to fear the powerful of this world nor to compromise with the spirit of the age. Illuminate Pope Francis that he may preserve, strengthen, and defend the Catholic Faith unto the shedding of his blood, and preserve, protect, and hand on the venerable liturgy of the Roman Church.
O Lord, enkindle in Pope Francis the zeal of the Apostles, so that he may proclaim to the whole world; “Salvation is found in no other than in Jesus Christ. For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which they should be saved” (see Acts 4:10-12).
O Lord, grant Pope Francis the grace that he may make the Holy See shine once more as the cathedra of truth for the whole world. Hear us, O Lord, and through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of the Church, and of all Holy Popes, grant Pope Francis the grace that he may be converted and strengthen his brethren in the faith, as you promised to the Apostle Peter (see Luke 22:32). O Lord, let thy mercy come upon Pope Francis! O Lord, let thy mercy come upon thy whole Church! In thee we place our hope, let us not be confounded for ever. Amen.
This initiative has been organized by a coalition of Catholic prayer groups, lay movements, and individuals who are committed to decrease noticeably the crisis in the Church and supporting the Pope through prayer.
The organizers invite people from all walks of life to participate and make this prayer effort a part of their Advent observance.
Please pledge to pray the novena here and get your copy of the novena prayer.

Convert?
I thought Frankie’s Gay was inborn and unconvertible?
You may want a Plan B—the Iron Maiden.
Lol.
Hilarious!
“9 Day Novena”
Is this AUTHORIZED by the Department of Redundancy Department?
Anyway, GOOD LUCK with that.
Why does the vicar of Christ with the direct uninterupted lineage from Peter and the final arbitration on Earth for Catholic doctrine need a conversion?
Best to put one’s faith in Christ and His Word, not traditions of men.
Uh....CHRIST INSTITUTED THE PAPACY AND THE LINEAGE FROM ST. PETER IS THERE....FOR ALL TO SEE WHO IS NOT BLIND OR HATE FILLED! OR HAS BEEN PROPAGANDIZED!
To what? Catholicism?
That does not answer my question nor does it make your point. I counter scripture does not support your screaming assertion and your post is not a reasoned response.
“The conversion of Pope Francis to the True Faith.”
Wait; Catholic theology asserts that neither a non-Catholic nor an apostate, nor a heretic can possible be a pope. One Peter Five (the publication announcing this) is in contradiction by announcing such a theme, therefor; the petition itself is an impossibility!
It makes more sense to pray for Catholics to wake up to the fact that we are in a time of tribulation where there is not a pope.
(There have been times without a pope in the past for years on end. There is a time without a pope every time an actual pope dies until another is by the act of the Holy Ghost, placed again in the chair of Peter.)
It looks like most aren’t honoring what was supposed to be “prayer” thread.
I wasn’t expecting the hatred.
In earnst I do pray the pope comes to know Christ and the church he leads rejects that which does not follow our Lord’s Word.
Yeah... sure.
I pray the SAME thing for a lot of Catholics.
I’ll pray for him. I’m not even Catholic, but he needs Jesus like anybody else.
People need to STOP calling this obvious evil, “Pope”. Pope Benedict did not offer a valid resignation; Pope is not a “shared” position and as such, this evil was not validly elected. He was placed, much like so many of the world “leaders” now. Absolute Evil is currently squatting in the seat, defiling all that it touches. I’ll say it again, STOP calling this evil, “Pope”. The “But… but… but he’ IS the Pope” mentality only allows the evil to continue in the face of common sense. The answer is NO. I can pray for hi to convert and save his soul, however.
Well said.
Bflr.
I have no qualms about getting onboard with this Novena.
In the words of POTUS 45:
What the ‘heck’ do we have to lose?!
I would be ecstatic to find myself worshipping the Lord for all eternity with Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Heaven.
