There are a number of games on the Internet in which you take your Initials, and choose a name from three columns based upon that initial letter. What you end up with is a humorous name of a Pirate, a Romance Novelist, a Blues Singer, or some other profession. Some of the results are really funny. I remember once playing the game for my "Blues Singer Name", and it came out to "Chicken Legs Jones"!

One of the little games my Sis and I play on the long drive to the Nursing Home, is coming up with names for Rock Bands. It uses the same principle, of string together three seemingly incongruous words to form a new entity. (A perfect example of this kind of Band Name would be the Sixties Band "Strawberry Alarm Clock"). One of my favorites, which Sis has actually used onstage is "Trailer Park Riot".

Some of the names are memorable, some not so much. Some names start out as insults, and then are adopted and become endearing, like "Deplorables" coined by Hillary Clinton to describe her opposition in 2016. People latched onto this label, and it became a "Meme". According to Wikipedia, the very word "Meme" was coined by Richard Dawkins in 1976. The proliferation of the Internet has caused the word itself to become a "Meme".

I'll mention some "Memes", and I'm sure you will get a mental picture immediately:

I use these Memes a lot, and I'll bet you have seen them all before.

In the few years after The Day of Pentecost, the Apostles added many more to their Number. One of them, Paul, had been a vicious persecutor of the Believers before The Holy Spirit knocked him off his high horse. When Paul (then called Saul) presented himself to the Church in Jerusalem, they were naturally suspicious. Was he a mole sent to infiltrate the church and get everyone killed?

Saul was rescued by a man named Barnabas. To this day, Barnabas's name is associated with encouragement, trust, and advocacy. It was Barnabas who convinced the Church in Jerusalem that Paul's Faith was Genuine. Barnabas is described as a "Man full of the Holy Spirit and of Faith".

Paul and Barnabas become traveling companions for a while and found a church in Antioch, Syria. It is in Antioch, that the name "Christian" pops up, meaning "little anointed one". It may not be entirely complimentary, and even maybe a little sarcastic. Yet, the name stuck and became a "Meme" that has lasted 2000 years.
