Ideological activists like Timothy Radcliffe are looking for every semantic loophole in the final document of the ex-synod in order to continue with their homosexual and feminist agendas, Swiss Auxiliary Bishop Marian Eleganti comments in his blog on 2 November.
"The synodal harvest of the previous synods is meagre," he writes. The Youth Synod (2018) literally fizzled out. The huge amount of preparatory work was useless, as was the post-synodal letter: "I never heard or read anything about it again."
The Amazon Synod (2019) was a disappointment, which did not prevent certain bishops in Amazonia from implementing their own vision.
The ex-synod (2021-2024) has lost competence on its controversial issues, which were repeatedly referred to a commission for further study (until summer 2025). Monsignor Eleganti sees no change here either: "We are going round in circles and starting all over again."
And, "When will the tragedy of repeatedly untying packages that have already been tied up come to an end?" he asks. Eleganti does not expect this to happen in the foreseeable future.
Regarding "Fiducia Supplicans", he writes that this is a (also) synodal fall from grace, since there was no synodal mandate for it.
"Cardinal Fernández has gone ahead and Francis has covered for him."
