Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father, Who Art In Heaven,
How Blessed and Glorious is Your Most Wonderful and Holy Name!
You Made Us,
and Everything there is,
For Your Are The Creator
The Only One.

1. O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2. You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
3. You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4. For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
5. You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.

 How Wonderful You Are, Dear Father!
I am Overwhelmed By Your Glory!

7. Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8. If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9. If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10. Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12. Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You. (From Psalm 139)

 Nothing Happens without Your Notice, Abba.
You know how many hairs are on my head,
How many cells in my body.
Nothing is Impossible for You.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Psalm 57

To the leader: Do Not Destroy. Of David. A Miktam, when he fled from Saul, in the cave.

1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
until the destroying storms pass by.
2 I cry to God Most High,
to God who fulfils his purpose for me.
3 He will send from heaven and save me,
he will put to shame those who trample on me.
Selah
God will send forth his steadfast love and his faithfulness.

4 I lie down among lions
that greedily devour* human prey;
their teeth are spears and arrows,
their tongues sharp swords.

5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens.
Let your glory be over all the earth.

6 They set a net for my steps;
my soul was bowed down.
They dug a pit in my path,
but they have fallen into it themselves.
Selah
7 My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast.
I will sing and make melody.
8 Awake, my soul!
Awake, O harp and lyre!
I will awake the dawn.
9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
10 For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens;
your faithfulness extends to the clouds.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens.
Let your glory be over all the earth.

I thought it was a compliment when people (including Mom!) called me a "free spirit". Upon reflection, though, I see that it might just have meant that I was undisciplined, rebellious, and maybe a little flaky. That was possibly the truth, because I would often start grand projects and not finish them. There is now a name for that, "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder". I definitely had the "H" part down to a science. Mom loved to tell the tale about me DRIVING the little bassinet (a wheeled cradle) across the room by pumping it with my body. I actually got all the way across the room. Poor Mom! I was her firstborn, and she probably thought all babies were like that. I couldn't explain to her that I was just getting into condition for my epic motorcycle rides.

When I chose the King James Version for this series on The Names and Titles of God, it wasn't because I am stuck on one Translation. The Names, as expressed in the KJV are probably the most common in our culture, and I wanted to be consistent throughout the series. Sometimes, there are better translations for certain words, but the KJV remains the most poetic and familiar.

Today's Name (or Title) is "Free Spirit". I am pretty certain this does NOT mean "undisciplined, rebellious, and maybe a little flaky", Heaven Forbid! So just what DOES it mean?

Once again, I turn to STRONG'S. The word translated as "Free" is נָדִיב (nadeeb) STRONG'S 5081.

I means "inclined, generous, noble, and willing". It also can indicate a noble person, or even a Nobleman, a person of rank.

In the context of David's Penitential Prayer, it would carry the meaning of a Noble, Generous, Willing, and Magnanimous Spirit, Who Freely gives Forgiveness and Reconciliation to the sinner who repents.

Whom the Son sets Free, is Free Indeed.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen
