Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
How Blessed and Hallowed is Your Most Wonderful and Holy Name!
You Alone are Worthy To Be Praised and Worshiped,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
The Creator, Sustainer, and Destroyer of All Things.

Abba Father, There is So Much Evil in our World!
Every Day we hear another story of how the wicked plot together
Against You, or against the people who love You.
Every Day, Another leak,
another lie,
another revelation of duplicity,
Of plots and schemes.
Expose them to the Light, Oh LORD!
For their wickedness can flourish only under the cover of darkness.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Just as we have three Beautiful Names for the Holy Spirit in this short Passage of Psalm 51, there are many others Passages in the Old Testament that bear witness to this Person in the Godhead. One that is particularly awesome is Psalm 139, which we will study in depth later in this series. Here is a little commentary on Psalm 139 that I wrote many years ago, discussing the Qualities of the Holy Spirit that are beyond our understanding. As we see online everyday, People are very uncomfortable about things they don't understand. Some of the coping mechanisms people succumb to are Sarcasm, Negativity, and what I call the "Whatabouts". Here is the excerpt from 2017:

These qualities are so "outside the Box" when it comes to our own perception, that although we can DEFINE the words, we can't UNDERSTAND them.

1. Omnipotence: This means "Almighty", or "All-Powerful". There is nothing that God can't do. But there is always some smart-aleck in Sunday School who asks, "Can God Make a Rock So BIG that He Can't Lift It?" (If you have even taught pre-teen boys, you know whereof I speak! LOL). How does one answer such a question. My answer would probably be: "If He WANTS to, Yes."

2. Omniscience: This means that God is All-Knowing, All-Seeing, and All-Wise. So once again, the smart-aleck asks "So didn't God KNOW where Adam & Eve were in the Garden? How about those people that Jesus asked "What do you want of me?" or "Do You want to get well?". The simple answer to this question is, "Of COURSE God already knows the answer. He asks the questions for OUR benefit, not His." As we ponder the answers to His questions, we learn and receive insight.

3. Omnipresence: This is perhaps the hardest question of all, and people (not only the smart-aleck, but everybody) ask "WHERE WAS GOD WHEN THIS HAPPENED TO ME?" This is the question posed in the popular "Footprints in the Sand" meme of the last century, but is the most ancient question of all. Psalm 139 gives David's answer, because I am sure he asked the question as well.

In Psalm 51, David pleads with God NOT to take "His Holy Spirit" away from him. This indicates a very Personal Relationship, a Cherished Bond with the Sacred, that David can't stand to lose. The Name "Holy Spirit (Ruach Ha Kodesh) uses the Hebrew Root קֹדֶשׁ (Kodesh, STRONG'S 6944) The best translation of this word is "Holy, Sacred, Set Apart as Precious, and other very special words to indicate that something is NOT to be taken lightly or profaned.

The use of this word pops up in Hebrew Prayers, such as "Kiddush" (the Prayer Over the Bread and Wine), "Kaddish" (a prayer said when a loved one dies), and "Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh" ("Holy, Holy, Holy", from Isaiah and part of the Liturgy.)

From the Context of David's heartfelt Prayer of Repentance, we can infer that he is not talking about an impersonal Force (like in Star Wars), nor is he just talking about merely the "Breath of Life", but is pleading against the devastating loss of deeply entwined relationship with a PERSON.

And that Person is The Holy Spirit.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 9

To the leader: according to Muth-labben. A Psalm of David.

1 I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

3 When my enemies turned back,
they stumbled and perished before you.
4 For you have maintained my just cause;
you have sat on the throne giving righteous judgement.

5 You have rebuked the nations, you have destroyed the wicked;
you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
6 The enemies have vanished in everlasting ruins;
their cities you have rooted out;
the very memory of them has perished.

7 But the Lord sits enthroned for ever,
he has established his throne for judgement.
8 He judges the world with righteousness;
he judges the peoples with equity.

9 The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion.
Declare his deeds among the peoples.
12 For he who avenges blood is mindful of them;
he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

13 Be gracious to me, O Lord.
See what I suffer from those who hate me;
you are the one who lifts me up from the gates of death,
14 so that I may recount all your praises,
and, in the gates of daughter Zion,
rejoice in your deliverance.

15 The nations have sunk in the pit that they made;
in the net that they hid has their own foot been caught.
16 The Lord has made himself known, he has executed judgement;
the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.
Higgaion. Selah

17 The wicked shall depart to Sheol,
all the nations that forget God.

18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
nor the hope of the poor perish for ever.

19 Rise up, O Lord! Do not let mortals prevail;
let the nations be judged before you.
20 Put them in fear, O Lord;
let the nations know that they are only human.
Selah
