[Catholic Caucus] Will the Vatican Ban the Apparitions of Akita?

In a Vatican statement issued on August 2, DDF prefect Cardinal Victor Fernadez said that the Puerto Rican missionary Elenita de Jesus "is not the Virgin Mary." What’s the big disclosure? Elenita never called herself the Virgin Mary.

Fernandez' claim is true and the claim apparently was made to give credibility to the Vatican's new norms for evaluating apparitions because the DDF plan is to denounce the authentic Marian apparitions of our time. Fernandez has made it clear that any revelation that speaks of God's justice or that challenges the hierarchy will not receive approval.

Rome Keeping an Eye on Akita

Already, the Vatican is set to reevaluate the apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Akita, Japan, which warn of God’s impending punishment. This is perfidious. The Akita apparitions already received official recognition from the Church. On April 22, 1984, Bishop John Shojiro Ito of Niigata, Japan, after a thorough investigation, declared the events at Akita to be of supernatural origin and approved them as genuine. In 1988, CDF Prefect Cardinal Ratzinger (later Benedict XVI) rubber stamped the decision, which sealed it forever.

On October 13, 1973, the Virgin Mary delivered the following message through Sister Agnes Sasagawa of Akita.

“As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son.

“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres… the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

“The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sorrow. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them.”

It is widely held that the Vatican plans to reverse the Akita decision on the grounds that Akita exposes the errant direction of today's clergy and warns of a great Chastisement that is about to descend on humanity.

Given that, we might understand that other apparitions like Fatima, Bayside, and Garabandal could be scheduled for the chopping block. However, Catholics should comfort themselves in knowing that Cardinal Fernandez and his Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) do not represent the Catholic Church and therefore do not warrant respect. Fernandez uses his position to promote homosexuality and transgenderism, which nullifies him and his work.

There's no such thing as a just God in Frankenchurch. His and Tucho's "god" is an all merciful god who welcomes all, just as Bergoglio welcomes all, except for traditional Catholics.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Team Bergoglio would reject Akita if it were presented today, but it seems to me that if they were to reopen the books on that one and declare it null and void, they’d only call more attention to it. Looks like a strategy that’d inevitably backfire.

Bayside was an obvious fraud never approved by anybody. It should NEVER be uttered in the same breath with Fatima.

I am doubtful that Akita was ever approved as “genuine”. The phrase usually used is “worthy of belief”.

Nobody, Catholic or not, is obliged to believe even in an “approved” private revelation (public revelation ended with the death of the last Apostle).

What I know of Akita is sound, and its fruits, as far as I know are good. It is also not forever ongoing (contrast with Medjugorje), and the message is consistent with Church teaching and even human judgment.

Bayside and Garabandal, to the best of my knowledge, were never approved.

Bayside is up there with Medg, in my opinion.

Garabandal, from my limited research, is “weird”

Putting Akita with Fatima is ok-—but I wouldn’t chuck it in with the other 3

Bayside is an obvious fraud. The "miraculous" photos were just light squiggles coming from Laguardia Airport, which is behind. Bayside promised a Lourdes type of Spring (never happened, and Veronica Lueken is dead), and that the pope would never excommunicate Archbishop Lefebvre. Among philosophical/theological problems was the declaration that IVF (test-tube) babies have no souls.

The first clue that the thing is off to me was that Veronica Leuken seemed the first incarnation of, to quote the rector of a good seminary on the dubious quality of another alleged apparition

“Our Lady the Blabbermouth”

Have you seen what Kissy Tucho has been approving?

Vatican approves devotion at popular shrines in India, Como

It said the truth of the nature of the Trinity is “expressed insistently” in Genovese’s writings, and that “the Church is called to rediscover more and more in the gestures of Christ that infinite mercy of the Triune God, who in the writings of Mr. Genovese is called by the name ‘Trinity Mercy’. This is the center of all the messages because, ultimately, it is the center of Revelation.”

Infinite mercy, but no justice in Frankenchurch. Why even believe in God?

My favorite Brooklyn-ese quotation from her was that the Blessed Trinity was like the Ballantine Beer symbol.

Oh, the Mercy is there, and it is Infinite, but you cannot avail yourself of it if you don't want it.

Ban this.
That absolute evil pos is NOT Pope and has no actual authority beyond what people will tolerate. Unfortunately, a lot of people will tolerate a hell of a lot.

I met a transitional Deacon back in ‘91 who went on to become Superior General of his order some years later who came from a family that came back to the Church through Bayside.

A good man and a good priest.

God works in weird ways at times.

Still, one (or two if you throw in Akita) of these “apparitions” is not like the others.

Which reminds me of the joke about the Holy Family discussing where to go on vacation, with the punch line being “I think I’d like to go to Medg., I’ve heard a lot about it but I’ve never been there.”

When I was with a community studying for the priesthood some members used to tune into a live(?) radio broadcast of the apparitions just for fun.

I think I only heard them once or twice, but the description of “Our Lady” and her outfits was a hoot, more of what I would expect from a fashion show.

A Correction about the approval of Akita by Rome

Then, on April 22, 1984, Bishop Ito, following the Holy See directives, issued a pastoral letter in which he declared that no one can deny the supernatural character of a series of mysterious events at a convent in Akita and solemnly declared that he has decided to ''authorize the veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Akita'' on the strength of his power as the local ordinary.

Have you read “Revelations” by
Xavier Reyes-Ayral ?

Per Amazon

Revelations

From 1846 to the present day, the Vatican has maintained quite the same message brought forth from Heaven by different messengers across time and across vast distances and continents. This message echoes the gravest of admonitions and calls mankind to convert and find refuge through the knowledge of the truth, which today threatens the very basis of world peace...

Today, in 2022, the message of La Salette, La Fraudais, Tilly, Fatima, Garabandal, Akita and Medjugorje, and their secrets take a meaning of the greatest importance, as the admonitions brought forth by the Blessed Virgin Mary warn of a cataclysmic global disaster which has now become imminent.

The Church’s apprehension of frightening the masses, inspired inaction and Rome’s decision to silence – founded more on fear than on caution – led millions of faithful to the darkness of ignorance and, therefore, to a lack of necessary conversion, prayers and intercession for peace.

This book proposes unveiling the light and, thus, asking humanity to respond to the call of a warm and loving mother who merely seeks the salvation of her children.

Bayside? These have already been repeatedly, roundly condemned. What demonic trickery is lumping Akita in with Bayside?
