And your retort is ignorant. With his new role revealed at this time by Jesus, Peter was also given a new name. God has this on a number of occasions, most notably with Abram (to Abraham), Jacob (to Israel), and Saul of Tarsus (to Paul). One only has to know their Bible to see this.
