"But there is further reason, and a pressing one today, why we should write upon our present subject, and that is to expose the modern and pernicious error of Dispensationalism. This is a device of the Enemy, designed to rob the children of no small part of that bread which their heavenly Father has provided for their souls; a device wherein the wily serpent appears as an angel of light, feigning to "make the Bible a new book" by simplifying much in it which perplexes the spiritually unlearned. It is sad to see how widely successful the devil has been by means of this subtle innovation."

Thanks for this.

No prophetic scripture stands alone. They are all parts of a mosaic.

It’s interesting how so-called “Covenant Theology” proponents want to make an enemy of other Christians who know the Bible better than they. Jealously is truly cruel.

Question: Who did God make the New Covenant with in Jeremiah 31?

In these times, it is fascinating to watch purported Christians attack believers.

I’m reminded of the Accuser of the Brethren…

“ Those who hold these views believe that it is the duty of Christians to create a worldwide kingdom patterned after the Mosaic Law. They believe that Christ will not return to earth until such a kingdom has been established.

“The principal goal, then, of dominion theology and Christian reconstructionism is political and religious domination of the world through the implementation of the moral laws, and subsequent punishments, of the Old Testament (the sacrificial and ceremonial laws having been fulfilled in the New Testament). This is not a government system ruled by the church, but rather a government conformed to the Law of God.”

The essay he references: Meredith G. Kline, The Covenant of the Seventieth Week.

Well worth reading.

Question: Who did God make the New Covenant with in Jeremiah 31?

Simple:

"Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

-- Jeremiah 31:31-33.

By specifically referencing the "house of Judah and the house of Israel," the prophet means to identify the entirety of the Israelite nation that was formed under the old Sinaitic Covenant -- i.e., all 12 tribes (well, 13, really, when you include Levi). But, of course, at the time of the prophet Jeremiah's communicating this message from Yahweh/God, the 10 northern tribes no longer existed. Having been carried into exile by the Assyrians in the 8th century B.C., they were to be dispersed throughout the Gentile nations, among whom they eventually intermarried and lost their character as "pure" Israelites under the Sinaitic Covenant.

Flash forward to the Last Supper:

"And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.' And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, 'This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.'"

-- Luke 22:19-20.

The New Covenant announced by the prophet Jeremiah was promised by Yahweh/God to the totality of the Israelite nation . . . even though, at the time of Jeremiah's announcement, the northern portion of that nation no longer existed. This New Covenant was inaugurated by Jesus of Nazareth at the Last Supper. The regathering of all the tribes of Israel, including those descendants of the northern kingdom that was dispersed among the Gentile nations, began at Pentecost:

"Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. And they were amazed and astonished, saying, 'Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

-- Acts 2:5-12.

In sum, the New Covenant is between Yahweh/God and the whole nation of Israel. Those who partake of this New Covenant are those Israelites who are in Christ.

This is pretty much New Testament 101 stuff.

The essay he references: Meredith G. Kline, The Covenant of the Seventieth Week.

Well worth reading.

Yes, all of Kline's work is worth consideration.

Among other things, Kline is one of the few biblical scholars who picked up on the fact that the "battle of Armageddon" (as described in Revelation 16 and 19) and the "Gog/Magog" confrontation (as described in Revelation 20) are clearly the same event. This, of course, has implications to those who hold to either "historical premillennialism" or "dispensational premillennialism."

Egads.

This is what happened when truth-seeking became warped beyond recognition into a perpetual battlefield littered with the corpses of "proof text" references that have done nothing wrong, but collectively are all guilty of something as far as the eye can see, from *whichever* direction the combatants are looking. It's always those other people who need to be conquered and subjugated.

If a doctor continually pointed to his impressive wall of diplomas and awards as proof of his wisdom and capabilities, I'd be just a tad skeptical. I'll believe what his works actually demonstrate, not sales pitches that don't ever translate into results, only more pointing to the writing on the wall, over and over again.

Many teachers, many opposing solutions for the same body because "good scholars disagree.." Kind of like carpenters with their math skills.

Good carpenters disagree. /s

The proof is in the Temple construction, how it's actually coming along.

Your Foundations Are The Most Important Part Of Your Build

All blocks, no brains... it really does look like a hurricane hit this article hard. A rebellious house. All hammer, no nails. Or all nails, no hammer, with nobody interested in pooling the resources to accomplish something constructive for a change.

No mention of the keystone verses sitting above it all, in the massive wall of masterful "proof texts". That's the typical blueprint for the many expert interpretations. No one would ever suspect that Ezekiel was looking at the Founders, spinning in their graves. Amber = chashmal = electricity. Free energy perpetual motion machine. Wheels within wheels. Walls on wheels.

Daniel 9

22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.
23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem...

Matthew 13

31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

The best arguments against the dispensationl view of the 70th week:

1. Nowhere in the Bible does God state that he has commissioned a 3rd Temple or will do so in the future. A phony temple cannot be defiled.

2. After the Messiah’s crucifixion, God no longer dwells in temples but rather, in the hearts of his saints. If he were to commission a third temple — or even allow a phony one to be built — he would be dissing his son, the Messiah.

So we Gentiles are grafted into Believing Israel and believing Judah and get to partake of this “New Covenant”?

Yes. That's how I read the Apostle Paul. In Romans 9-11, and, of course, Galatians 3:

"Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, In you shall all the nations be blessed.' So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith."

-- Galatians 3:7-9. I'm not sure how Paul could have put it any clearer. Nevertheless, over the many decades, starting early in the 19th century, the "dual covenant" proponents have gone out of their way, it seems to me, to miss the point.

, you arent healed cuz you lack faith

deadly heresy.

a brother in Teen Challenge was mostly deaf

he was “ healed” almost every chapel

except he didnt have enough faith for that ‘ healing’

to be ‘ manifested “..

he finally became so distraught , he left the castle and committed suicide with a drug overdose

i raised holy hell and made sure the director was removed.

now you know

why i hate this heresy

with me its personal

it still hurts to think , much less talk about

dominion and salvation by works , anti Semitic preterism that seeks to rob Israel of their covenant promises....

it
is
deadly

.

/\

it was the Lord that removed the director

but it was me that he used to do that

i stood up to the false teachers

and exposed the evil for the evil it was

like the book tells us to do
