From the Diocese statement:

Father Rodriguez bit her hand so she would let go of the hosts she grabbed,” the statement continued.

To get the host meant an act of force and intent that intruded upon the rights of the Preist. I would of just decked her instead of biting her but whatever.

Here’s a video of the priest explaining to police what happened. He starts talking at 0:51.

In that video, the priest says she was pushing him, and he says he was “defending myself and defending the Sacrament.”

Below that video is the police report. That report quotes the priest as saying the woman “got upset and attacked him” and then the woman “pushed him and would not let go of the Communion tray and the only way he thought to extract her from it was to bite her arm.”

To that woman, it was a tray of “cookies.” To the Catholic Church, the Host is the body of Christ.

But, the priest also explained that he was defending himself.
