Well, it’s like I’ve been saying in general about that whole prophesy genre:

“Your surprise is waiting”

Yep. Pretty much my view of the matter. Prophesies of the first coming of Jesus in the Bible were pretty cryptic, and for a good reason. It's reasonable to assume that prophesies of his second coming follow the same pattern.

God won't act in a way that is inconsistent with what has been recorded in Scripture, no. But, the way I see it, how such Scripture is to be interpreted, when it comes to matters of eschatology, is in the eye of the (fallen, non-omniscient human) beholder.

The problem nowadays is that over past decades, an industry of "end times" crackpots has blossomed, pitching their arcane theories and interpretations, which they communicate with an air of absolute certainty, to the gullible and the rubes. And they do so for money, for the most part. Oh, they'll call it their "ministry," but it's really just their half-assed business enterprise.

Remain in Christ. Keep short accounts with God. Do one's part for the Great Commission. After that, what happens, happens. I'm open to being "surprised." Those in Christ have nothing to fear.

Why is Easter not aligned with Passover?

Never understood that.....
......

Depends on who you ask..

Religion can answer that for us.
The Father can also answer that for us.

Also depends on if you really, really really want to know. Like it bothers you not to know the answer to that question..

Firstly, I’ll second that for the final time.

1. The Orthodox Church is much more conservative in practice than the Western Church. In general, Orthodox services are the same as determined by the early church. 2. Orthodox Pascha was set at the 1st Great Ecumenical Council at Nicaea in 325. The rule is Pascha is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox AFTER Passover. 3. This Council at Nicaea also specified the Nicaean Creed, the symbol of faith, condemned the Arian heresy, and confirmed the dual nature of Christ. 4. The Western Churches adoption of the Gregorian calendar in the late 1700s is the reason why they calculate Pascha on a different date. Best wishes to all!

There is a fairly new Orthodox Church a few miles from us. I just looked at their website and they said visitors are welcome - I might check it out just to see the inside and see how they do worship.

On their site they said they touch on all of the senses - so it is very visual with all of the icons, smells (candles??, incense??), touching (making the cross on one’s chest - and done the opposite from Catholics!), etc.

I know that the Protestant churches I have attended recently are pretty sparse on rituals. Sometimes I think those rituals aren’t so bad.

I'm open to being "surprised."

How "surprised"? 🤠

Perhaps I'm the only one who sees the humor on the average street corner, but the signs sure are everywhere these days. Out of the blue! 🤫

Have a great rest of the day!
