Thank you, Frank. I just left my mother’s death bed. She’s not gone yet, but will be soon. Would you mind if I read this at her memorial service?

Well researched and explained, but I feel like it’s treading very close to the “if you just prayed more, you wouldn’t have cancer” line ...
My Dad suffered from horrendous Rheumatoid Arthritis, and he passed WAY too young from complications when it moved into his lungs — he was prayed over & annointed, we all prayed, he prayed and asked God to take this away. He believed and brought several to believe, and was a church leader, Bible Study leader, etc.
But he still suffered and died, and I refuse to believe it was because he lacked faith in what God could do for him (on this Earth, not in Heaven).
I’m hoping I have the wrong end of the stick here ...
Wonderful, Awesome, Blessing of a post!
Absolutely true and thank you!
Well, I have thought about some of these these things lately.
I am 73 and I am in fair health.
I want to simply enjoy my remaining years.
So, I eat whatever I want and drink whatever I want.
I am not trying to live as long as I possibly can.
My mother lived to be 95 and was miserable for the last 10 years.
I do not think GOD put us here to be miserable.
People die as infants, as teens, as young adults, etc., etc.
So then I ask myself these questions...
“Does GOD care how long we live?”
“Am I pleasing GOD to see just how long I can live?”
“Why do some die young and some die old?”
I do not have any other answer to this question than this:
“We die we we have accomplished what we were sent here to do.”
Whether that be as an infant or as an elderly person,
we may not understand the “why” until we return unto him.
I repeat myself now...
God does not want his children to be miserable.
Just like you would not want your own children to be miserable.
Looks like hogwash to me.
