A prominent Episcopal bishop ripped a female cleric's collar off after she briefly forgot her words at an LGBT-friendly Easter Vigil that was emceed by a drag queen.
A video captured the jaw-dropping moment when Bishop Alan M. Gates snatched the collar from Reverend Tamra Tucker's neck during the service at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston on March 30.
He has now been branded a misogynist and forced into a groveling apology over the incident, which was live-streamed online.
In the footage, Rev. Tucker, who is the leader of The Crossing, an LGBTQ-inclusive congregation, explained to the attendees that they will now be 'communing' with one another.
'It's going to go very simply,' the reverend said as she began to break down the ceremony to the audience, which consisted of several congregations and other Protestant denominations.
We're going to allow somebody to take their own piece of bread, and you will say to the person taking the bread this.'
At this point in the video, Rev. Tucker apparently forgot the words for the ceremony.
She looked at the Bishop, and then turned to the crowd and said with her palms up: 'Wait what is it? I've been gone for a while.'
Then she seemed to remember the words and said with visible relief: 'The body of Christ.'
The reverend smiled, and the people standing on the dais behind her laughed.
'It's very simple. The body of Christ, that's all you got to do,' Rev. Tucker said.
Moments later, Bishop Gates, who had been smiling good-naturedly at her brief gaffe, lunged toward her and pulled the reverend's clerical collar from her neck.
People initially laughed boisterously at the surprise gesture. A woman at the end of the dais stared with her jaw open, and the drag queen clapped.

The Episcopal Church has become a mental ward.
“and the drag queen clapped”. Perfect. You can’t be on everyone’s side and still be on God’s side. It’s just a circus act with no point to it.
Book of Daniel. Abomination of desolation passage. We need to take cover.
PS Didn't the Almighty smite one or more people in the Old Testament who were clowning around in the Temple?
“The Episcopal Church has become a mental ward.”
And a den of vipers. I left that denomination many years ago after my particular parish hired a lesbian rector, advocated from the pulpit for LGBTQwerty “rights” and flew the rainbow flag out in front. It is an apostate church.
Abomination.
“Just want to come out of the closet” is becoming a joke.
They want to be glorified and deified.......
and will marginalize those of us they
obviously consider to be their inferiors.
I couldn’t care less about the collar thing. Everyone involved in that circus is insane.
I am embarrassed for them. They wouldnt do that to any other religion. It is constantly poking my eye like a splinter. What would Jesus do beside not go to that church? Maybe like us he’s had it and thinks it’s time to turn those money changer tables over let the doves free and run the evil scum to the wilderness
Why I left it long ago.
Jesus braided his own whip.
John 2:15
And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
Just when you think someone in the clergy finally came to their senses and had enough of this sacrilegious proceeding it turns out he’s “Just kidding”.
Like most churches...
They’re done.
Boston. Figures. This is flat out, in your face, unapologetic Satanism. When the Black Mass is presentented as a public exhibition...we are clearly in the end times. Please Jesus, as you saved Mary Magdeline, save us from such filth.
This was a better world when the people of Boston confined their revolutions to dumping tea in the harbor.
Unchristian?
Certainly seems Blasphemy is a VERY Christian reason to remove a Blasphemous’ “Reverends” collar off.
We come to the table with humility, without anger, with forgiveness toward others, with repentance for our sins and sinful nature, with thanksgivings for Christs sacrifice on the cross and for Thanksgiving for His return,
It seems none there had these things on their mind, heart or soul.
Sad.
