Thanks. I'm coming at this from a pretty clinical perspective even if it is in my own gut. It took a long time to analyze my chest CT. The report has a long laundry list of damage. The biopsies near the ampulla had adenocarcinoma. That doesn't give any clue to how extensively spread the adenocarcinoma may be. The surgeon removed the sphincter connecting to the duodenum. There was an obstructive choledochocele, Type 1 on the ampulla. That caused so much back pressure on the common bile duct that it resembles a tube sock instead of a nice, neat 4mm tube as originally created. The surgeon wants to resect the common bile duct. What I don't want is to be carved up and stitched into a jigsaw puzzle in a Whipple procedure. Having had 3000 RADs of radiation through my gut in 1985, I'm not wild about another round of that either.
I'm not year on the precipice of meeting my pets at the rainbow bridge. Some prayers to get John through his urgent crisis are a better focus for our prayer warriors.
