but you have to read the whole chapter for it to make sense; BTB, the Bible was not written in chapter and verse, that fracturing of the Bible didn’t come about until the 1500’s by two different people, one chopped it up into chapters and another guy into verses - the average being 17.5 words per verse which is why John 3:16 and 17 when read separately is awkward.
