God has prompted me to take this series, and the Gospel, to a wider audience--indeed, to a global audience. So, I am ending this FreeRepublic series and moving to YouTube, effective immediately.
The new series is called
I expect this is the final post of The Bible In Paintings series, the 979th. I am indebted to many people. Most fundamentally, of course, none of this would have been possible without our gracious and benevolent host, Mr. Jim Robinson. Thank you, sir!
Mary-Lou (Left That Other Site) provided excellent technical help and moral support in the early days. Her example, posting complex daily threads year-after-year, inspired me and continues to. Thank you, friend!
There is another, whom I am enjoined from naming, who worked many, many hours behind the scenes, finding me more art just for the joy of it. Although I cannot name her, if you know, you know. She knows she is my eternal sister, and the Spirit and I intend to collaborate on a beyond-beautiful stained glass fenstergarden in her corner of heaven.
I dare not single out the many other cherished individuals, because one can never adequately list everyone who deserves that accolade. But those of you who joined in—you know who you are—we had fun, didn’t we? And we shared so many profound biblical truths—I’ve learned so much! I must say, the most pleasant surprise for me, aside from the lack of theological rancor, has been the warm camaraderie, good humor and biblical earnestness of so many of you who have become a godly community around these Bible stories. I leave behind the Archives for future reference.
Finally, a word about the future. God called me to this endeavor nearly four years ago, but along the way I’ve discovered that He has been preparing me for it all my life; that is, I find that the qualities needed to do this are precisely those He has most instilled in me. And now that His Spirit has taught me how to do this, He wants more: I must head out of Jerusalem to the uttermost parts of the earth. YouTube can do that, so I’ve taught myself how to use video-editing software. But I cannot do both FR and YT, and the fields there are white for harvest. So, please pray that I allow the Holy Spirit to do what He wants.
May God bless you and keep you.
Dan
Best Wishes on your new endeavor, Dan! :-)
When I was a little girl, I thyought that Ricky was singing directly through the TV to me, personally.
Of course, I had a huge crush on him!
There is a chance, yes, but....
I’ve been so busy learning how to create videos, and then creating them, that I’ve had very limited time for considering platforms. When I did, YouTube seemed relatively easy to access and use, whereas Rumble seemed to be just the opposite. So,I started on YT.
Now that things are calming, I intend to revisit that.
Thanks so much, Mary-Lou! Same to you on your “old” one.
He was obviously very talented and I’m not surprised you ladies liked him.
For me, it was Lori Partridge.... :)
OOPS
Laurie Partridge
Goodbye, so long, farewell,
THIS should have been your opus.
There´s a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say “cuckoo”
Cuckoo, cuckoo
Regretfully they tell us Cuckoo, cuckoo
But firmly they compel us Cuckoo, cuckoo
To say goodbye
Cuckoo!
To you
So long, farewell, Free Republic, good night
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight
So long, farewell, Free Republic, adieu
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu
So long, farewell, au revoir, auf wiedersehen
I´d like to stay and taste my first champagne
So long, farewell, Free Republic, goodbye
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye
Goodbye!
I´m glad to go, I cannot tell a lie
I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly
The sun has gone to bed and so must I
So long, farewell, Free Republic, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye!
Your series will NOT be missed by me.

Thank you very much. God bless you.
Fare thee well.
Spectacular news, Dan! We have benefited so richly from your ministry! I can’t think of a better time, than now, for your work to go global. May God bless and enrich you and bring many yearning souls to your new YouTube page! I will be one of them! And, thank you for the ARCHIVES!
And you, Jim.
Dan, I hope that God leads you to greater and greater success with this…I have enjoyed the posts here very much.
I have always really enjoyed your posts and am disappointed to see you go.
For me personally, I like the ability to read and scroll through the pictures at my own pace. Being presented in video format and having to wait to see all of the art, takes that independence away. I just don’t know how many folks will be willing to patiently watch the YouTube each time, especially if it take 10-15 minutes.
Nonetheless, that is just my opinion. I wish you the very best. Thank you.
What a lovely send-off. Thanks so much.
Archives, thanks. Best wishes for success!
Thank you, Scott. I have enjoyed our many conversations immensely. May our Lord bless you abundantly.
Thanks for expressing that. You are the second to say it--my wife is the other. If and when the Spirit says so, too....
Thanks, P!
Thank You!
Tomorrow is the J-Thread’s 14th Birthday.
Positively venerable.
