Good link. It’s unpopular to say this, but female pastors are heretical. The Bible is not an ala carte menu. It doesn’t need to stay hip with the prevailing culture. Women need to get over it.
Go you one better: ARE PASTORS BIBLICAL?
Word is not found in Greek. KJV had it mistranslated from “poimen” which is shepherd.
Who is your favorite pastor in the NT?
No - you cannot find one. Strange, no? Why are none of Paul’s letters not addressed to a pastor? No, Timothy was not a pastor. He was an apostle with an apostles responsibilities noted in Paul’s letters to him that were beyond one locality. He mentored under Paul, was discipled under him as the other apostles were under our Lord Jesus.
In NT word is only found once in the English NT, a mistranslation in Eph. 4:11. The word is “shepherd teachers” as the two are linked in Greek. It is one gift & function - not a title or position. It is what elders are called to do.
The singular word “poimen” in the NT ALWAYS AND ONLY refers to our Lord Jesus. “The LORD IS MY SHEPHERD”.
The verb form of poimen is, in the NT, what the elders are charged to do. Read Peter.
Today “Pastor” is an exalted title and position that men (& women) covet - strongly forbidden by our Lord in Matt. 23:6ff. Interesting how we apply & practice what is not in the Bible and reject/ignore what is there - in our “Bible” churches.
