Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Acts 25

Festus Consults King Agrippa

13 A few days later King Agrippa and Bernice arrived at Caesarea to pay their respects to Festus. 14 Since they were spending many days there, Festus discussed Paul’s case with the king. He said: “There is a man here whom Felix left as a prisoner. 15 When I went to Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews brought charges against him and asked that he be condemned.

16 “I told them that it is not the Roman custom to hand over anyone before they have faced their accusers and have had an opportunity to defend themselves against the charges. 17 When they came here with me, I did not delay the case, but convened the court the next day and ordered the man to be brought in. 18 When his accusers got up to speak, they did not charge him with any of the crimes I had expected. 19 Instead, they had some points of dispute with him about their own religion and about a dead man named Jesus who Paul claimed was alive. 20 I was at a loss how to investigate such matters; so I asked if he would be willing to go to Jerusalem and stand trial there on these charges. 21 But when Paul made his appeal to be held over for the Emperor’s decision, I ordered him held until I could send him to Caesar.”

22 Then Agrippa said to Festus, “I would like to hear this man myself.”

He replied, “Tomorrow you will hear him.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Dear Heavenly Father,
We Praise Your Name.
You Alone Are Holy,
Wonderful, and Glorious.
Thank You For Giving Us Your Word,
Which Sometimes Contains Hard Lessons.
We Thank You For Our Mentors and Teachers,
And Especially For Those Who Serve in The Military
Who Protect and Defend Our Beloved USA.
We Pray that You Will Give Them a Double Portion of Your Spirit.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Please continue to pray for me. I am beginning to suspect that this "cold" is something more. I dragged myself to a clinic yesterday to get some medicine, but I'm still struggling. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

As many of you know, I am an avid motorcyclist, and my two younger brothers started riding right after I did. We used to ride together a lot.

My brother Tom pulled his '03 Heritage Softtail up to the gas pump right behind a rather tough-looking biker who was gassing up his bike, which was the exact same year and model as mine, a 93FXR.

"Nice Bike," my brother innocently said. "My SISTER rides one just like that."

The biker took that the wrong way and charged at my brother., who quickly said, "No, no, that was a compliment! My sister really does ride an FXR! She's a VERY REMARKABLE WOMAN!".

The two guys became instant friends, and ended up talking about bikes, family, sisters, and so on. Sometimes we have to be very careful how we word things!

It's easy to get the "Herods" mixed up. There was the one who rebuilt the Temple (The Architect), the one who slaughtered the Innocents of Bethlehem, the one who accepted worship and got eaten by worms, and this one, King Agrippa

This one was no prize either, and fit the description of a "Yes-Man" perfectly. He groveled to the Romans, favored their customs over his own Jewish Religion, and was generally thought of as a "Puppet". His sister, Bernice, who is seen traveling around with him in this chapter, was alleged by the Historian Josephus as also being his "girlfriend". Eyew. All told, the Herods were not a nice family and, by abetting the Roman illusion of self-rule, he was a traitor to his own people, in my opinion.

Anyway, Paul is actually going to be given a chance to preach the Gospel to these reprobates, and, in tomorrow's reading, we will see how he approaches that task.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 41

To the leader. A Psalm of David.

1 Happy are those who consider the poor;*
the Lord delivers them in the day of trouble.
2 The Lord protects them and keeps them alive;
they are called happy in the land.
You do not give them up to the will of their enemies.
3 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed;
in their illness you heal all their infirmities.*

4 As for me, I said, ‘O Lord, be gracious to me;
heal me, for I have sinned against you.’
5 My enemies wonder in malice
when I will die, and my name perish.
6 And when they come to see me, they utter empty words,
while their hearts gather mischief;
when they go out, they tell it abroad.
7 All who hate me whisper together about me;
they imagine the worst for me.

8 They think that a deadly thing has fastened on me,
that I will not rise again from where I lie.
9 Even my bosom friend in whom I trusted,
who ate of my bread, has lifted the heel against me.
10 But you, O Lord, be gracious to me,
and raise me up, that I may repay them.

11 By this I know that you are pleased with me;
because my enemy has not triumphed over me.
12 But you have upheld me because of my integrity,
and set me in your presence for ever.

13 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.Amen and Amen.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR
THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM!
And for the Preservation of the Valiant
Israeli Nation!

"Apostle Paul Before Festus & Agrippa"
Robert Leinweber (1845~1915)

after certain days king Agrippa and Bernice came unto Caesarea to salute Festus.
And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul's cause unto the king, saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by Felix:
To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him.

Therefore, when they were come hither, without any delay on the morrow I sat on the judgment seat, and commanded the man to be brought forth.

Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:

But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

And because I doubted of such manner of questions, I asked him whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters.

But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Caesar.

Then Agrippa said unto Festus, I would also hear the man myself. To morrow, said he, thou shalt hear him.

Prayer Of Blessing On All Who Are Sick
May the Lord bless and keep all who are unwell today. May the Lord let His face shine upon all who are struggling with ill heath and sickness of body, mind or spirit, and may the Lord lift up the shining light of His lovely face on all who are struggling today, with various disease, disorders and health problems.

May He rise up with healing on His wings and look with deep compassion and mercy on all who need His strength today. May He pour into all their hearts the peace and love that only comes from the Father, through the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, in Whose name we pray,

Amen.

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”
(Ephesians 1:17)
“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”
(Malachi 4:2)
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:”
(James 5:14)
