Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem
Acts 20
Eutychus Raised From the Dead at Troas
7 On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. 8 There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were meeting. 9 Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. 10 Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!” 11 Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left. 12 The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem
Almighty and Everlasting Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

As I have stated many times since last September, my sisters and I went to see Eric Clapton in Concert in Boston. It was a wonderful concert, and when he sang "Tears In Heaven", there wasn't a dry eye in the entire Boston Garden.
The song had been written because Eric had lost his four-year-old son due to a fall from a window. Even three decades after this happened, Eric's sorrow was still evident in the song.
A Three-Story dwelling would not have been unusual in the Roman Empire. In fact, in Biblical times, people often met on the flat roofs of their dwellings. The Law of Moses demanded that such houses have a parapet around to roof to prevent such horrible accidents. I also ran into "Safety Features" when building the mud room on my little One-Story Trailer.
Since I had limited funds for a huge project, and some of the repairs were more important than others (Roof vs New Windows, etc), I had to design my "mud-room" around whatever doors and windows I could find for cheap. My brother had a lovely set of Atrium Doors that I could have, if I could get it the 26 miles from his barn to my house. A regular front door was in the budget, but any more windows were not. The spaces on each side of the door were so narrow that the windows would have to be custom-made, and it was just impossible. I was beginning to think that there would just have to be blank wall on either side of the door, which wouldn't look great, but would just have to be.
With some help from my friends, I got the Atrium Door up to the site, but it seemed really HUGE. Was this going to work at all?
On the way to work the next day, I popped into the "Habitat For Humanity" store to see if there were any bargains. And there they were, two high-end, insulated, double-pane, custom windows that were very skinny...less than 18" across. They were a tiny fraction of their original price so I snapped them up. If they weren't the right size, I would change the mud-room plans to fit THEM.
The contractor was amazed at my find, and we altered the plans to fit the windows.
Once installed, they looked awesome, but when I tried to open them, the windows would only go up 2 inches. Oh NO!They were totally installed and you couldn't open them! Since they had come un-packaged, I did not see that they were equipped with a safety feature so that they would not open beyond a certain point. This was to prevent children from falling out. Once I detected the little lever in the sash, I was able to open the windows fully. This feature was probably due to the fact that these were very well-made windows and covered all the bases.
When I was in Florida teaching a little girl, the Mom got a frantic phone call from her sister. The sister's little girl had fallen out of a window from her playroom which was over the garage. The fall was from a second floor down to the hard driveway. The girl was rushed to the hospital, and the piano lesson turned into a prayer meeting.
I later got word that the little girl was fine except for a bump on the head.
It seems like The Book of Acts isn't finished yet.

Psalm 63
A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.
1 O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name.
5 My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast,*
and my mouth praises you with joyful lips
6 when I think of you on my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
7 for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.
9 But those who seek to destroy my life
shall go down into the depths of the earth;
10 they shall be given over to the power of the sword,
they shall be prey for jackals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by him shall exult,
for the mouths of liars will be stopped.
