Hi All:
I am not the type of person to post much about my personal life…except with one exception… that is when it concerns decisions regarding my health and the health of family and/or friends.
I am a HUGE proponent of prayer… I have seen it move mountains when it looked as if there was no path for deliverance… As such, here goes a request concerning the continuing saga of my right eye….
I will likely need surgery to correct the vision in my right eye (vitrectomy & ERM peel) to address a macular pucker (scar tissue on the retina) and cystoid macular edema (swelling of the retina)… Currently my eyesight in that eye is a “bad” 20/40 and slowly declining (was 20/30).
The surgery to correct it is not extensive… likely done in 30 minutes… and usually ends with positive results for most (80% improve, 15% stay the same, but stops decline). However, there are possible complications that can arise (the remaining 5%)… that can lead to some possibly bad results or further surgery…
So please pray unceasingly for proper discernment, being led to the proper diagnosis, treatment and retina specialist(s)... and for complete healing...
Please also pray for me to have patience and strength to handle whatever may come…
I know we serve a big God… and if it is His will to move these mountains (or scar tissue and swelling in my case) it will be done and I will be grateful…
The good news is the left eye is seeing 20/15 or 20/20 again… praise be to God!
Jeremiah 17:14: "Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise."
Thanks, …PigRigger

Best wishes on your surgery! I had a vitrectomy on my right eye for terrible floaters that obstructed my vision. Will schedule my left eye at next appointment in Dec. I didn’t have the peel, but my vitrectomy went smooth as glass. One hour prep time for IV hook up, eye drops, and machine hook up (BP, Heart Monitor), and drugs to kick in., then 20 minutes in and out of surgery, home within an hour. I did not have to lie face down as some people are required to do for a few days so I was lucky there. Just no bending or heavy lifting for a week. My floaters in right eye gone.
I will add for anyone who might not be aware it can happen, that my floaters came about after riding a roller coaster at Universal Orlando. Rode the Hulk Coaster with my Grandson and when I got off floaters were all over both my eyes, in an instant I went from seeing great to having big floaters that tore off during some of the twist and turns and upside down moves on that ride.
Apparently I had some bad, dry old vitreous gel that just ripped off from the forces of the coaster and started floating around my eyes. Luckily it was last day of va-ca and next day after flying home my eye doc got me in right away, he couldn’t believe what he saw. Sent me straight to Cincinnati Eye Institute and surgeon said yep you got bad floaters, let’s get em out of there. Only way is vitrectomy, they suck out your old vitreous gel youre born with which removes the floaters and they refill your eye with silicone gel to replace the vitreous gel.
Prayers now.
