I’ve always enjoyed comparing the two prophets, Elijah and Elisha.

Elijah seemed to be the happy-go-lucky practical joker type, and Elisha was the Down-to-Earth serious no-nonsense type............

There’s a strong argument that Moses was a third person who was probably raised from the dead (like Lazarus) because it appears that Moses and Elijah will be God’s two witnesses in the future who will come down from Heaven, testify for 3.5 years, be killed, raised, and go to Heaven during the tribulation (Revelation 11:3-12).

I’m a bit flummoxed about what happens to Enoch.

Enoch is a real question mark for me.

Hebrews 11 recognizes and employs Enoch as the very exemplar of faith:

By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

And we know where Enoch obtained his profound faith, for Paul tells us in Romans 10 that "faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." Enoch listened.

Good stuff.

I believe from the account of Abraham, that God preached the Gospel of the Grace of Christ in the stars (by now that has been perverted) from the virgin birth to Christ's death on the cross. (BTW if you don't have that, it could be a good series. Not "astrology" but God's true heavenly alignment that tells the gospel story.)

Anyway, what puzzles me is what happens to Enoch since he apparently has never died. One possibility that comes to mind as I am typing this to you is the possibly Enoch received the pre-incarnate Christ, was born again (died and rose with Christ), and then was "raptured" to Heaven. That is the only explanation that makes sense to me.

"Christ was crucified from the foundation of the earth" (Rev 13:8) supports this possibility.
