Salvation has always been through faith and never by works nor self-righteous deeds, nor religious ritual, nor through a church.
Through faith in Christ alone. Always.
As your verse makes clear, salvation comes through faith alone, but the faith that saves results in the life of Christ being expressed in wonderful spiritual fruit!
If you want to believe Jesus was oblivious to why he was
in Jersusalem in John 10, at the Temple...
observing some feast... go for it.

The only thing that even slightly saves you is your use of quote marks.
But I can handle the essence of "Faith In Christ Alone"
much more than I can hear the "Scripture Alone" wizardry.
After all, if "Faith In Christ Alone. Always" is the deal for sure;
then that means I don't need to get twisted up by scripture-
only Just Faith in Christ is needed.
But then again, I have read scripture...
and it says something about something that is even greater than "Faith".

Where is the Love?
Don't I have to Love the Lord with all my Mind, Body and Soul too?
And what if I could love Jesus so much -
I would want his life physically and spiritually in me-

Why would you not want HIS bodily Communion he has given us?

You have taken that passage out of its context to apply to salvation. It is not the gospel.
Righteousness (salvation) always comes through faith (belief) in Christ alone. Works follow, if faith is real. Simple as that.
Obviously many lack knowledge of faith! Perhaps just “dead faith”
“You see a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.”

“Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith.”

But St. PAUL understood the patriarchy very, very well:

The ONLY thing that can save anyone,
Is the gift of the Grace of God.
Not Faith.
Not scripture.
Not works.
Not the Church.
Not Mary.
Not the Pope.
The Grace of God is what saves.
It's how sinners cooperate with that God given Grace,
That determines our future.

So, now how do you keep your salvation?
Maybe this will help:
Sanctifying grace stays in the soul. It’s what makes the soul holy; it gives the soul supernatural life. More properly, it is supernatural life.
Actual grace, by contrast, is a supernatural push or encouragement. It’s transient. It doesn’t live in the soul, but acts on the soul from the outside, so to speak. It’s a supernatural kick in the pants. It gets the will and intellect moving so we can seek out and keep sanctifying grace.
In its natural state, your soul isn’t fit for heaven. What you need to live there is supernatural life, not just natural life. That supernatural life is called sanctifying grace.
If sanctifying grace dwells in your soul when you die, then you can live in heaven (though you may need to be purified first in purgatory; cf. 1 Cor. 3:12–16). If it doesn’t dwell in your soul when you die—in other words, if your soul is spiritually dead by being in the state of mortal sin (Gal. 5:19-21)— you cannot live in heaven. You then have to face an eternity of spiritual death: the utter separation of your spirit from God (Eph. 2:1, 2:5, 4:18).

It's definitely a "pregnant" question though, (pun intended)
as it can have different aspects in order to answer it.

Yes, I know we say ...
We were saved, Baptism,
We're being saved,
working it out with fear, trembling and bourbon
And that we will be saved with the hope given us-
through the promise of Christ's Sacrifice.
But that first step... for me
doesn't save us in every way...
it's more that a door has been opened in me
to let Christ take over.
Not Salvation, but a justification to live out the promise given to me.
So no... in a way...

So how, or why, is disobeying them an option for Catholics? the convoluted rationalizations and excuses Catholics post here to explain away their disobedience would be laughable if it were not so sad and serious.
I never saw as much excuse making for disobeying Jesus as Catholics display on this one issue. Well, almost. Except for the excuse making for eating blood which is explicitly prohibited by God throughout Scripture.
