Oh; the ones who are NOT part of the 'dead in Christ' group?

Lest it appear I fail to acknowledge Elsie’s claim there are also offshoots of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I can only say when man decides for himself what is truth or scripture the results are usually confusion.

But haven't you done just this?

A self-proclaimed 'prophet' that you HAVE to believe and follow, or you are lost?

I call {insert BIG letters describing male, bovine excrement here} !

Oh?

The KJV??

The very one that has had DOUBT cast upon it by the LDS creed: the Articles of Faith???

I’d suggest that you guys use the JST - Inspired Version - instead of the KJV, due to all the error found in the KJV has been removed.

Unless you do not care for all the time and effort Joseph Smith put into it - following the COMMAND of GOD.

https://rsc.byu.edu/scriptures-modern-world/joseph-smith-translation-bible

By 1833, Smith said it was sufficiently complete that preparations for publication could begin,[citation needed] though continual lack of time and means[citation needed] prevented it from appearing in its entirety during his lifetime. He continued to make a few revisions and to prepare the manuscript for printing until he was killed in 1844.[6] Regarding the completeness of the JST/IV as we have it, Robert Matthews has written:

[T]he manuscript shows that Smith went all the way through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. But it also shows that he did not make all the necessary corrections in one effort. This situation makes it impossible to give a statistical answer to questions about how much of the Translation was completed or how much was not completed. What is evident, however, is that any part of the Translation might have been further touched upon and improved by additional revelation and emendation by Smith.[7]

All those works to earn what God gives us for free, just for the asking.

Saints that have entered Heaven are free from sin, and many free from sin before they die.

Anyone who has trusted Christ alone for salvation through faith is saved and freed from sin.

Colossians 2:13-14 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

The ENTIRE record of my sin debt to God has been wiped clean by Him. He no longer counts sin to my account. I'm freed from it's penalty, it's power, and it's consequences. NO works to try to *merit* (read "earn") what He freely lavishes on us.

Catholics live in such bondage to legalism and works.

Well, one could have eternal life here on earth, too.

You are side stepping the point I made though and that is the inconsistency in determining whether something should be interpreted as literal or not within one passage.

By picking and choosing like that, you can justify ANY doctrinal position.

Are your so-called prophets correct 100% of the time?

If not, they are false prophets and the penalty for that in the OT is stoning.

The Catholic faith passed down by Jesus and the Apostles has not changed for 2000 years.

Total nonsense.

Catholic history if replete with examples of Catholic doctrine that has changed over the millennia, not to mention that you cannot even get two Catholics to agree on all points of Catholic doctrine.

Heck, FRomans can't even agree who the last legitimate pope was if they even admit it, which some won't.

Just as a point of clarification, as that can be misunderstood.

It is in regard to salvation only. Sin can still have worldly consequences, power and penalty. We may suffer the consequences of other’s sin’s and other may suffer for ours, even if forgiven.

The Eucharist is a Sacrament that gives us God’s grace to help us love Him, grow in our faith on the path to salvation.

Actions we do, including what you all claim works, does not impart grace. If we receive something from God based on any actions we do, it's no longer grace but rather wages due for work performed..

Also, God does not dole out grace in stingy little parcels to those whom Catholicism deems worthy.

He LAVISHES His grace on us.(Ephesians 1:8) because that's who He is.

Additionally, we are constantly in His grace.

Romans 5:1-2Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand,...

Under Catholicism grace, mercy, and forgiveness don't actually exist since everything the Catholic receives is based on *sacraments* or *merit*.

Grace, mercy, and forgiveness can never be earned, merited, or worked for. By their very definition and nature, they are gifts FREELY given by the Giver. If they were based on some kind of payment or merit, they cease to be gifts.

I appears that listening to apparitions is an LDS endeavor lifted from the Catholics:

We haven’t lifted anything from the Catholics unless it was true to begin with. Truth is pretty important. Prophets aren’t in the habit of
lifting much from anyone or anything but direct from the source. Which is why God in his wisdom for six thousand years has utilized
prophets in communicating with his children.

Total falsehood.

No Apostle ever taught or practiced half of what you teach in ROME.

They would instantly recognize it as the paganism surrounding the church that they warned would enter as heresy.

Mainly, they would be horrified that the Gospel of Grace was perverted into a hamster wheel of syncretic paganism.

“Hey Rome!You had one job…!”
-Peter

Also, they’d be horrified at your gay clergy and abuse of children.

If I’m not mistaken we are the only organized religion that makes the claim. Since the only sinless and perfect person that ever lived was Jesus Christ, no one with any sense is going to say that any Prophet is perfect.

Yet, that is the method whereby God has proclaimed his commandments, Gospel, and warnings to human kind. If you fail to honor that method it means you are on your own. Frailty of man notwithstanding.

I follow the teachings of Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture, and the Magisterium of Christ, the apostles and their successors through the Catholic Church.

But do you KNOW you have eternal life? Will you go to heaven when you die?

I’m sure you are aware that Jesus spoke many times of the improper stoning of Prophets by so called believers. Those same believers related to the earlier murderers of the prophets, went so far as to crucify the Lamb of God.

>>If not, they are false prophets and the penalty for that in the OT is stoning.<<

I’m sure you are aware that Jesus spoke many times of the improper stoning of Prophets by so called believers. Those same believers related to the earlier murderers of the prophets, went so far as to crucify the Lamb of God.

It appears you are NOT aware that it was Almighty God who commanded that false prophets be executed. The "improper" stoning was done to true prophets God sent to warn and teach His people and they rejected them.

Then the LORD said to me, “They have spoken well. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. And I will hold accountable anyone who does not listen to My words that the prophet speaks in My name. But if any prophet dares to speak a message in My name that I have not commanded him to speak, or to speak in the name of other gods, that prophet must be put to death.”

You may ask in your heart, “How can we recognize a message that the LORD has not spoken?” When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD and the message does not come to pass or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. (Deut. 18:17-22)
