Not one single Christian claims to absolve ourselves of sin. 1 John 1:9 has been posted several times.

It is GOD who forgives us. We simply take Him at His word that He has done it in response to our confessing to Him.

It's called *faith*.

We don't call Him a liar by refusing to accept what He has told us.
