‘Amen Church’ has reportedly shut down completely and permanently closed its doors, putting the Dallas-based church out of its misery following its spectacular implosion and downfall.
Three months ago, Amen Church founder Dr. Field Harrison shocked concertgoers attending the ‘Amen Nights’ worship concert when he attacked the inspiration of the Bible and came out fully as LGBTQ-affirming. Telling the gathered crowd, “There are some people that want to treat the whole Bible as equal, just not this guy” Harrison was dismayed when rather than standing up for the voiceless, the crowd stood up to leave, disgusted at what they heard.
In late 2021, Dr. Field Harrison and his wife Sabrina launched Amen Church in Dallas, Texas. A dentist by profession (and NOT a doctor of theology). The church was unique in that it was all staffed by volunteers and there are no paid positions, with Harrison pledging to donate all tithes to charity- sometimes homeless shelters, other times hospitals. In a since-deleted message on their ‘About me page,’ he explains, “You don’t have to be a pastor to grow the church. Every believer of Jesus is called to do that.”
Though the church never made a public statement regarding the open gay affirmation, after the sermon, they did change their website to be more honest about what they believe and better reflect their core values, removing the phrase ‘the bible is inspired’ from their statement of faith. Musician Dante Bowe, who attends the church, has not made a statement either.
Despite having a robust and active social media presence before this event, the concert sermon has changed everything. Following the gay-affirming statements, the church’s social media accounts have gone silent or purged altogether.
The have deleted their Facebook page. They have deleted their church website. They have deleted all their sermons and content from YouTube. They have not updated their Instagram since March 19 . Founder/ preacher Field Harrison has taken his Instagram private.
Plus Google is also showing their demise.
While it’s possible they have simply gone completely underground to avoid scrutiny, it’s unlikely. From burgeoning, growing church to shutting down completely following a single gay-affirming message.
You love to see it.
Very interesting. I just saw a meme this morning that said, “It’s not the will of God if it goes against the Word of God”. This “pastor” should’ve heeded those words.
[the crowd stood up to leave, disgusted at what they heard.]
GOOD - That’s exactly what they needed to do!
“GOOD - That’s exactly what they needed to do!’
Yes, exactly. And shake the dust of the place off the bottom of their shoes as they leave
Indeed.
And there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
This!
AND DON’T LOOK BACK!!!!!
Telling the gathered crowd, “There are some people that want to treat the whole Bible as equal, just not this guy”
Who is “This guy”? The speaker? The biblical figure? Someone in the audience?
He’s talking about himself (the “pastor”)
Indeed.

20s message: Jesus is your savior, not just some Bud Lite.
You might know Dr. Field Harrison as a successful dentist and the owner of Mint Dentistry.
But now, you’ll see him in a new role as the leader of the Amen Church.
”I honestly just felt called to do it,” said Harrison.
He said a few years ago he was diagnosed with tinnitus, a severe ringing in his ears, which made it hard to sleep. Harrison said that’s when he knew it was time to start his church.
“My ears started ringing out of nowhere, and I felt called to do it before then. But when my ears started ringing, I just knew this was the time," he said.
So, he set out to find the perfect venue and he did.
Harrison has rented the Meyerson Symphony Center for a year to host church every Sunday morning.
Very positive press from the Dallas media - not even a year ago.
The website is down and the Facebook page is (mostly) blank.
Not normal.
Last one I saw was what I call the MINT DYNASTY campaign, apparently to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. Looked like a promo from an 80's soap.
I never went to Mint dentistry, but I did think that their approach was unique, and it had an influence on how dentistry practices are set up here.
Here’s a Twitter link to the sermon referred to

But what he is reported as having said is current "mainline Protestant" orthodoxy. And while those churches may be dwindling, they definitely have adherents and stay in business.
The posters sall it all. Why did any “Christian” think the guy was a Chrsitian in the first place.
Sadly too many Christians look for a personality, a human personality, to lead them, when Christ has pledged to lead them through His word.
