This brings us to Lura Groen, the pastrix of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Columbia, MD. She is quite possibly the grossest clergy we’ve ever written about, claiming that Jesus was trying to SEDUCE the woman at the well, that there are lesbian angels’ who ‘consensually’ flirt with queer christian women, and comparing the mystery of the Trinity to the luridness of sadomasochism and BDSM.
Last we wrote about her, she was praising and endorsing hookups, premarital sex, and polyamory. and saying that Jesus has ‘Other Lovers’ besides the Christian church.In a series of posts on social media she writes:
Though some may want to dismiss her as a crackpot loon, Groen isn’t a nobody, even though it wouldn’t matter if she were. Instead, she continues to rise in the ranks through the ELCA. Four years ago, she was elected to the Discipline Committee of the Delaware-Maryland Synod, where she enjoys a close friendship with the Bishop. She has also spoken on at least one panel with Elizabeth Eaton, the head of the ELCA. Those in power know who she is and how she behaves and are entirely and utterly supportive.

The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod doesn’t have female pastors. Neither does the Wisconsin Synod. Headlines like this are part of the attempt to smear all Lutherans, and Christians, with the same crazy brush.

I don't know any Lutheran pastors, but I know that type well from college. /snicker
I gave up on the ELCA years ago. Good luck to any sane people still there, I don’t see how they will be allowed to make any difference.
My wife is a pastor, who’s rostered with the General Lutheran Church and Lutheran Orthodox Church. The Lutheran Congregations for Mission in Christ (LCMC) and North American Lutheran Church (NALC) have lady pastors. The headline writer probably wanted to smear strange ELCA pastors (men and woman) who like to ignore the Bible.
Columbia MD is a rich model “new town”. It was a nice place last time I was there.
Surely Columbia residents can find a MUCH BETTER church, in which they can be saved for all eternity by our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ!!!!
There is no need to hear the blasphemous ravings of a deluded priestess, or to expose one’s children to them!!!!

I grew-up in the American Lutheran Church in Wisconsin in the ‘50s.
What the liberal deviates have done to this gentle, loving God-fearing church is beyond disgusting.
Again I feel nauseated.
I think I know where some tables need to be turned.
My church is LCMC affiliated. Several years ago, the ELCA “jumped the shark” and many churches got out of that affiliation. They tried to hold financial sway over churches to keep them in the “fold” but it was obvious that the ELCA had turned “woke” and any church that could, got out.
That’s great. I hope that a lot more ELCA congregations will leave the ELCA, if they decide their pastors contradict the Bible.
