Yeah, the truth can certainly make enemies. Like a great Bible commentator said.......tell the truth and leave the consquences to God.
Virtually every evangelical here has mocked, ridiculed, attacked, and disparaged those who keep the Sabbath. It’s bizarre to me because Protestants in days gone by used to keep the Sabbath! They all did, all churches taught Sunday was the Sabbath and was to be honored as such.
It’s bizarre what this new theology has done. All because of the Sabbath, they got rid of the entire law and now they don’t evne keep Sunday anymore.
this guy didn’t fall for it and I love that about him.
Sorry, don’t really care much about making enemies. Look at the hate up here for those who keep the Sabbath...that’s nothing. Wait till the real fireworks start.

Was there a recent SDA meeting or memo to push the SDA cult garbage on this free Republic platform?
Do the cultists get paid, or eternal rewards by the post, or the number of people they annoy?
I certainly hope y’all are donating heavily to the owners of this site, for all the bandwidth, division and contentiousness you try to stir up.
“How do you tell a SDA?”
“YOU DON’T. THEY TELL YOU”
...IGNORE button pressed.
Carry on with the SDA propaganda in your attempt to justify yourself. Me...I’m completely unimpressed, yet still and eternally saved by what Jesus did, not the filthy rags of what I do.

And with that said, I will leave the thread.

not embarrassed in the least.
But you should be.
Also not ashamed of the (gospel)!good news of my salvation which is in Christ alone.
Crucified with Him! Galatians 2:20
And your silly frail gaslighting title in this thread shows your problem. For you have not love, only legalism.

>>>God gave man his own will to decision. (Matthew 23) So by requiring people to work on the sabbath, depending on what day it is based upon different religions is man’s decision...both to require it and work it.>>>
U kind of lost me. It’s not that hard. God made the 7th day HOLY at creation, before sin. And he said he made it FOR me, for man, for adam for all of us. It’s a gift to us. A day set apart so we won’t come apart.
Why is it in the 10 commandments there with lying and stealing? Because in that one commandment, God reveals his authority to make the law. The Sabbath is his seal of authority......”Lord God, creator of heaven and earth.”
That is who the lawgiver and lawmaker is. And no church can make a day holy. Rome claims it is the mark of her authority over scripture to transfer the solemnity of the Sabbath to Sunday. At least she’s honest. She knows there is no Bible support for it. She even looks at Protestants and says....why Sunday? That’s our day. The Bible says Sabbath, the 7th day. And she’s correct.
Fact is, Daniel told us aobut this haughty power, the little horn. Arising out of Rome. And Daniel even tells us she would “think to change set times and law.”
The Sabbath is the only commandment in the law having to do with time.
The Christian church used to uphold the 10 commandments. Now look at them.....they have talked themselves out of it...all because of the Sabbath.
They can twist and turn and bend all the scripture they want. Jesus said NOT ONE JOT OR TITTLE till all heaven and earth pass away.
That is why John Wesley said the following.......and today.....nobody believes it. Bizarre to me:
This ‘handwriting of ordinances’ our Lord did blot out, take away, and nail to His cross. (Colossians 2: 14.) But the moral law contained in the Ten Commandments, and enforced by the prophets, He did not take away.... The moral law stands on an entirely different foundation from the ceremonial or ritual law. ...Every part of this law must remain in force upon all mankind and in all ages.

I'd like to know how the postal service works as far as job assignments and seniority. I worked for NY State. The Department I worked for was uniformed and jobs were based on seniority. Officers were different from supervisors when it came to what vacation groups you were assigned to, but you still had to bid a job and win it by seniority. If you chose not to bid a job, you would be extra, and would work at the pleasure of the Staffing Lieutenant. That meant you might work a couple of days on the day shift, but then would be required to come back in that night for the midnight shift, which was actually considered the next day.
Depending on the facility, uniformed staff would work a rotating 6 days on, two days off, which would eventually rotate around to having two weekends off back to back. Then you'd start the 6 days on, and two days off cycle again. The better jobs of course went to the more senior people who bid on them. Jobs with weekends and holidays off were the prime jobs, but there were only a handful of those, and the most senior people would win them. When you originally took the job, you knew you would be working weekends, and sometimes double shifts if necessary. And, when you took the job, you would have known that you may be sent to a facility clear across the state, with the chance that you wouldn't be able to transfer back closer to home for at least three years. If you couldn't handle that. Then you didn't take the job. When I took the job in 1980, you had to have a year on the job before you could request a transfer. That rule was eventually changed.
There was never an accommodation made for any religious groups represented in the uniform staff, but of course, the department made religious accommodations for the convicts.

! This Christian man embarrasses all you here who think the 10 commandments were nailed to the cross. He don't buy that crap theology of today. ..Get outta here with your bizarre theology. It's the sabbath y'all hate, not the 10 commandments. What Christians here reject the commands against idolatry, profanity, honoring parents, adultery, murder etc.? Evangelicals have long testified to affirming obedience to the moral law.
I myself have never worked for pay on Sunday after becoming born again, treating it as sanctified if not imposing it on all, and refrain from sports and personal commerce from Sat. 6P to Sunday 6p, but not from helping others, by the grace of God.
This is a guy who upholds the 10 commandments and is willing to lose a job over it. I commend him!
Actually if you are a SDA then your founder held that Sundaykeeping will be the mark of the beast when the decree goes forth causing men to worship this sabbath. But maybe you are a different kind of
He's got the wrong day but he's keeping it in the right way the way Protestants used to keep it! You go dude! Love it!!
No, the only one of the 10 commandments never repeated, nor is a actual NT church shown keeping it, and the only specific day only believers met together was the first day, while by nature the 7th day pertains to the typological class of ordinances for which literal obedience was abrogated.
Please see post here and page here before attempting debate.

As a side note, SCOTUS would uphold Muslims in seeking a like pass for Friday, while the Satanic Temple (a parody anti-Christ org) will likely consider trying to make Friday or Monday their Sabbath.

You are correct, the law was only given to the children of Israel. God says over and over that the sabbath is a sign between Him and the Children of Israel.
People who aren’t justified by faith must do something to justify themselves. It always begins with sabbath, but more and more things will be added, such as dietary laws.
Interesting to note, they claim the sabbath, but don’t keep it themselves. Keeping the sabbath at a minimum requires:
1. Do no work
2. Do not kindle a fire
3. Stay at home
4. Do not cook
I’ve never seen a “sabbath keeper” keep all of these, they only blast others for not keeping the sabbath.
But, judaizers are gonna judaize...

Huh? I’m just thrilled to find a Sunday Christian who still believes in all 10 commandments, including the Sabbath. He’s got the wrong day but he keeps it in the right way and I respect that.
Try to find an Evangelical today who keeps Sunday as the Lord’s day........the whole day. They don’t even exist anymore.

Uh, I think you are missing my point. Wesley didn’t throw out the 10 commandments. yes, he kept Sunday. He kept the wrong day in the right way. But at least he didn’t twist his theology to abolish the whole 10 commandments to get out of the holy day.
Wesley and Protestants upheld the 10 commandments and most kept Sunday and God honored that. Today’s evangelicals don’t even keep Sunday anymore.
What happened to you folks? that’s why I admire the guy who won the lawsuit. Good for him! He’s no flake with twisted theology. Wrong day.......right way.

Fact is, Daniel told us aobut this haughty power, the little horn. Arising out of Rome. And Daniel even tells us she would “think to change set times and law.” Fact is, Neither the Pope or Constantine began the first day Sabbath ...
See below for abundant historical support which shows that from early on, and before the “church of Rome” had power to change the day from the 1st day of the week to the 7th, which change she is erroneously credited with doing, though Rome does incorporate elements of Judaism as well as unBiblical practices. These quotes are only for historical purposes, and any doctrinal views must be subject to examination by the Bible.
100 AD BARNABAS: Moreover God says to the Jews, 'Your new moons and Sabbaths 1 cannot endure.' You see how he says, 'The present Sabbaths are not acceptable to me, but the Sabbath which I have made in which, when I have rested [heaven: Heb 4] from all things, I will make the beginning of the eighth day which is the beginning of another world.' Wherefore we Christians keep the eighth day for joy, on which also Jesus arose from the dead and when he appeared ascended into heaven. (15:8f, The Epistle of Barnabas, 100 AD, Ante-Nicene Fathers , vol. 1, pg. 147)
|
|
150AD JUSTIN: The command of circumcision, again, bidding [them] always circumcise the children on the eighth day, was a type of the true circumcision, by which we are circumcised from deceit and iniquity through Him who rose from the dead on the first day after the Sabbath, [namely through] our Lord Jesus Christ. For the first day after the Sabbath, remaining the first of all the days, is called, however, the eighth, according to the number of all the days of the cycle, and [yet] remains the first.". (Justin, Dialogue 41:4)
|
150AD JUSTIN: ...those who have persecuted and do persecute Christ, if they do not repent, shall not inherit anything on the holy mountain. But the Gentiles, who have believed on Him, and have repented of the sins which they have committed, they shall receive the inheritance along with the patriarchs and the prophets, and the just men who are descended from Jacob, even although they neither keep the Sabbath, nor are circumcised, nor observe the feasts. Assuredly they shall receive the holy inheritance of God. (Dialogue With Trypho the Jew, 150-165 AD, Ante-Nicene Fathers , vol. 1, page 207)
|
150AD JUSTIN: But if we do not admit this, we shall be liable to fall into foolish opinion, as if it were not the same God who existed in the times of Enoch and all the rest, who neither were circumcised after the flesh, nor observed Sabbaths, nor any other rites, seeing that Moses enjoined such observances... For if there was no need of circumcision before Abraham, or of the observance of Sabbaths, of feasts and sacrifices, before Moses; no more need is there of them now, after that, according to the will of God, Jesus Christ the Son of God has been born without sin, of a virgin sprung from the stock of Abraham. (Dialogue With Trypho the Jew, 150-165 AD, Ante-Nicene Fathers , vol. 1, page 206)
|
150AD JUSTIN: And on the day called Sunday, all who live in cities or in the country gather together to one place, and the memoirs of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as time permits; then, when the reader has ceased, the president verbally instructs, and exhorts to the imitation of these good things. Then we all rise together and pray, and, as we before said, when our prayer is ended, bread and wine and water are brought, and the president in like manner offers prayers and thanksgivings, according to his ability, and the people assent, saying Amen; and there is a distribution to each, and a participation of that over which thanks have been given, and to those who are absent a portion is sent by the deacons. And they who are well to do, and willing, give what each thinks fit; and what is collected is deposited with the president, who succours the orphans and widows and those who, through sickness or any other cause, are in want, and those who are in bonds and the strangers sojourning among us, and in a word takes care of all who are in need. But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead. For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn (Saturday); and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration." (First apology of Justin, Weekly Worship of the Christians, Ch 68)
|
150AD JUSTIN: Moreover, all those righteous men already mentioned [after mentioning Adam. Abel, Enoch, Lot, Noah, Melchizedek, and Abraham], though they kept no Sabbaths, were pleasing to God; and after them Abraham with all his descendants until Moses... And you [fleshly Jews] were commanded to keep Sabbaths, that you might retain the memorial of God. For His word makes this announcement, saying, "That you may know that I am God who redeemed you." (Dialogue With Trypho the Jew, 150-165 AD, Ante-Nicene Fathers , vol. 1, page 204)
|
150AD JUSTIN: There is no other thing for which you blame us, my friends, is there than this? That we do not live according to the Law, nor, are we circumcised in the flesh as your forefathers, nor do we observe the Sabbath as you do. (Dialogue with Trypho 10:1. In verse 3 the Jew Trypho acknowledges that Christians 'do not keep the Sabbath.')
|
150AD JUSTIN: We are always together with one another. And for all the things with which we are supplied we bless the Maker of all through his Son Jesus Christ and through his Holy Spirit. And on the day called Sunday there is a gathering together in the same place of all who live in a city or a rural district.... We all make our assembly in common on the day of the Sun, since it is the first day, on which God changed the darkness and matter and made the world, and Jesus Christ our Savior arose from the dead on the same day. For they crucified him on the day before Saturn's day, and on the day after (which is the day of the Sun the appeared to his apostles and taught his disciples these things. (Apology, 1, 67:1-3, 7; First Apology, 145 AD, Ante-Nicene Fathers , Vol. 1, pg. 186)
|
155 AD Justin Martyr [W]e too would observe the fleshly circumcision, and the Sabbaths, and in short all the feasts, if we did not know for what reason they were enjoined [on] you--namely, on account of your transgressions and the hardness of your heart. . . . [H]ow is it, Trypho, that we would not observe those rites which do not harm us--I speak of fleshly circumcision and Sabbaths and feasts? . . . God enjoined you [Jews] to keep the Sabbath, and impose on you other precepts for a sign, as I have already said, on account of your unrighteousness and that of your fathers" (Dialogue with Trypho the Jew 18, 21).
|
|
200AD BARDESANES: Wherever we are, we are all called after the one name of Christ Christians. On one day, the first of the week, we assemble ourselves together. (On Fate)
|
|
200AD TERTULLIAN: It follows, accordingly, that, in so far as the abolition of carnal circumcision and of the old law is demonstrated as having been consummated at its specific times, so also the observance of the Sabbath is demonstrated to have been temporary. (An Answer to the Jews 4:1, Ante-Nicene Fathers Vol. 3, page 155)
|
200AD TERTULLIAN: ...God originated Adam uncircumcised, and inobservant of the Sabbath, consequently his offspring also, Abel, offering Him sacrifices, uncircumcised and inobservant of the Sabbath, was by Him commended... Noah also, uncircumcised - yes, and inobservant of the Sabbath - God freed from the deluge. For Enoch, too, most righteous man, uncircumcised and inobservant of the Sabbath, He translated from this world... Melchizedek also, "the priest of most high God," uncircumcised and inobservant of the Sabbath, was chosen to the priesthood of God. (An Answer to the Jews 2:10; 4:1, Ante-Nicene Fathers Vol. 3, page 153)
|
|
|
220AD ORIGEN: On Sunday none of the actions of the world should be done. If then, you abstain from all the works of this world and keep yourselves free for spiritual things, go to church, listen to the readings and divine homilies, meditate on heavenly things. (Homil. 23 in Numeros 4, PG 12:749)
|
225 AD The Didascalia: The apostles further appointed: On the first day of the week let there be service, and the reading of the Holy Scriptures, and the oblation, because on the first day of the week our Lord rose from the place of the dead, and on the first day of the week he arose upon the world, and on the first day of the week he ascended up to heaven, and on the first day of the week he will appear at last with the angels of heaven" (Didascalia 2).
|
250AD CYPRIAN: The eight day, that is, the first day after the Sabbath, and the Lord's Day." (Epistle 58, Sec 4)
|
250 AD IGNATIUS: ...those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death...And after the observance of the Sabbath, let every friend of Christ keep the Lord's Day as a festival, the resurrection-day, the queen and chief of all the days [of the week]. Looking forward to this, the prophet declared, "To the end, for the eighth day," on which our life both sprang up again, and the victory over death was obtained in Christ...(Epistle of Ignatius to the Magnesians, Chapter IX)
|
250AD IGNATIUS: On the day of the preparation, then, at the third hour, He received the sentence from Pilate, the Father permitting that to happen; at the sixth hour He was crucified; at the ninth hour He gave up the ghost; and before sunset He was buried. During the Sabbath He continued under the earth in the tomb in which Joseph of Arimathaea had laid Him. At the dawning of the Lord's day He arose from the dead, according to what was spoken by Himself, "As Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so shall the Son of man also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." The day of the preparation, then, comprises the passion; the Sabbath embraces the burial; the Lord's Day contains the resurrection. (The Epistle of Ignatius to the Trallians, chapter 9)
|
250AD IGNATIUS: This [custom], of not bending the knee upon Sunday, is a symbol of the resurrection, through which we have been set free, by the grace of Christ, from sins, and from death, which has been put to death under Him..." (Ignatius, Fragments)
|
300 AD Victorinus: The sixth day [Friday] is called parasceve, that is to say, the preparation of the kingdom. . . And let the parasceve become a rigorous fast, lest we should appear to observe any Sabbath with the Jews . . . which Sabbath he [Christ] in his body abolished. (The Creation of the World).
|
300AD EUSEBIUS: They did not, therefore, regard circumcision, nor observe the Sabbath neither do we; … because such things as these do not belong to Christians." (Ecc. Hist., Book 1, Ch. 4)
|
|
300 AD Eusebius of Caesarea: They [the pre- Mosaic saints of the Old Testament] did not care about circumcision of the body, neither do we [Christians]. They did not care about observing Sabbaths, nor do we. They did not avoid certain kinds of food, neither did they regard the other distinctions which Moses first delivered to their posterity to be observed as symbols; nor do Christians of the present day do such things" (Church History 1:4:8).
|
300 AD Eusebius of Caesarea: The day of his [Christ's] light . . . was the day of his resurrection from the dead, which they say, as being the one and only truly holy day and the Lord's day, is better than any number of days as we ordinarily understand them, and better than the days set apart by the Mosaic Law for feasts, new moons, and Sabbaths, which the Apostle [Paul] teaches are the shadow of days and not days in reality. (Proof of the Gospel 4:16:186)

Try to find an Evangelical today who keeps Sunday as the Lord’s day........the whole day. They don’t even exist anymore. Try to find an avid contender for keeping the 7th day sabbath who is thrilled that one sanctifies the first day.
those who obey God and will be eternally saved and those who reject his law and will be eternally lost. The attitude of the individual toward the seventh-day Sabbath would be the determining factor. —Selected Messages, Book 3 (1980), page 380, paragraph 2, Chapter Title: Lessons From Meeting the Sunday Law Crisis of the Late 1880's and Early 1890's.
And those who reverence the commandments of God, will, after seeing the claims of the fourth precept of the decalogue, obey it without questioning the feasibility or convenience of such obedience. But if light on this subject is presented from the word of God, and men reject that light, they thereby refuse to obey God, and cannot be saved in their disobedience. —The Watchman, June 23, 1908, paragraph 3, Article Title: The Rejection of Light Mrs. E. G. White.

Sabbath is not required for us under the New Covenant on the same basis by which we say that animal sacrifice is not required: it is fulfilled by the person and work of Jesus, but His perfect obedience and perfect work on the cross.
You are free to worship Jesus on any day you want.
The same foundation of the OLD COVENANT, is the foundation of the NEW COVENANT, namely God’s 10 commandment law, now based on better promises, put into our minds and hearts. You should look it up. Christians that think like you do won’t be in heaven. The bible makes that very clear. You should think about that. Same with your false belief that God’s moral law is ceremonial. Ridiculous.
Revelation 12: 17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14:12Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 21:27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Revelation 22:14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Ecclesiastes 12:13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

I think the guy needs further bible studies.
Christians are not required to observe a weekly sabbath.
Christians are under “the law of the Christ,” which does not include keeping the Sabbath.
(Colossians 2:16, 17)
“Therefore, do not let anyone judge you about what you eat and drink or about the observance of a festival or of the new moon or of a sabbath.
17 Those things are a shadow of the things to come, but the reality belongs to the Christ.”
God never required other people to observe a sabbath rest.
In addition, even the Jews were “released from the Law” of Moses, including the Ten Commandments, by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
(Romans 7:6, 7)
“But now we have been released from the Law, because we have died to that which restrained us, in order that we might be slaves in a new sense by the spirit and not in the old sense by the written code.”
7 “What, then, are we to say? Is the Law sin?”
“Certainly not! Really, I would not have come to know sin had it not been for the Law.”
(Romans 10:4)
“For Christ is the end of the Law, so that everyone exercising faith may have righteousness.
(Galatians 3:24, 25)
“So the Law became our guardian leading to Christ,a so that we might be declared righteous through faith.b 25 But now that the faith has arrived, we are no longer under a guardian.”
Rather than adhere to the Law of Moses, Christians follow the superior law of love.
(Hebrews 8:13)
“In his saying “a new covenant, he has made the former one obsolete.
Now what is obsolete and growing old is near to vanishing away.”
