How could the guy who wrote the article be so wrong about the Sabbath?
And how could all those Protestant Reformers (actually all of them) be so wrong about the identity of the Antichrist?
Neither of you has ANY answers to the myriad of scriptures I’ve laid out.
You both fulfill the words of Christ about casting pearls before swine.
He looked down through the ages and saw both of you would not listen or study as the Bereans when told the truth. He used the unclean animal in the Law of Moses to symbolize your nastiness.
You trample the pearls of God’s wisdom and attack the messenger.
You choose to make yourselves like blinded and deafened Israel who cannot see or hear. You’re no different than the Sabbath-observant Jews who rejected the Gospel when Paul brought it to them and opposed and attacked him at every turn. Suit yourselves. Your conduct shows you know nothing about the singular thing you’ve built your false religion around.
Swine at heart. No more pearls. Remain cursed in your rebellion against scripture.
Matthew 7:6 NKJV
Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
Acts 13:44-51 NKJV
On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region. But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, raised up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and came to Iconium.
Galatians 1:6-9 NKJV
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
——>Neither of you has ANY answers to the myriad of scriptures I’ve laid out.
Sure I do. The article I linked to has the answer to probably every argument you could ever come up with against the Sabbath commandment. All you have to do is read it.
>>>Neither of you has ANY answers to the myriad of scriptures I’ve laid out.>>>>
Your amateur superficial theology has been exposed. Even the Protestant Reformers upheld the Ten Commandments based on scripture. This new stuff, dispensationalism has you all on a while goose chase looking for red hieffers and literal Israel.
You couldn’t get rid of the Sabbath, so you managed to talk your way out of the Ten Commandments. You have no answers to John seeing the “Tabernacle of the Testimony” in heaven...that’s the Ten Commandments bud. You don’t have any answers. Just texts taken out of context.
You even think Honor your parents was Jew I guess. Either that or you extracted the 4th as Jewish while still applying the other 9......weak superficial amateur new theology. What’s new is seldom true and what’s true is seldom new.
Jesus made the Sabbath .....for man. You can’t unmake what he made. Deal with it.....face it. Sleep on it.....it ain’t going away because in the end.....you will either accept it...or join with Rome which you already have. that is why God says to “come out of her”...Sorry.....blame Jesus the Lord of the Sabbath......not me.
“The article I linked to has the answer to probably every argument you could ever come up with against the Sabbath commandment. All you have to do is read it.”
I’ve read it.
I have no interest in promoting your false religion website.
I’ll keep my discussions here.
Your website does NOT answer my arguments. It presents false arguments. I’m not going to argue with a website.
How about instead of demanding I read your website, you read the Bible? I’ve made it easy. I copied the passages here so you don’t even have to look them up.
I’m not going to sing, dance, and do a jig at your command.
I’ve laid out arguments that do not exist on your website. If you wanted to copy and paste something here, you could have, but you chose to blog pimp instead.
Not going to go on a wild goose chase. It’s obvious by every answer you’ve made to massive content I’ve created from scratch, that you have zero interest in learning anything. You simply want to pimp your false religion.
Not interested.
You don’t deserve the truth. You don’t do the things necessary to obtain the treasure of wisdom. You’ve hardened your stubborn heart endlessly, and there you will remain.
“You couldn’t get rid of the Sabbath, so you managed to talk your way out of the Ten Commandments.
The ten commandments reveal our sinfulness. They are not the Gospel of salvation. They are reiterated in the New Testament as our model for godly living (not salvation). But the New Covenant is about writing God’s laws on our hearts.
1) Do not worship any other gods (1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Timothy 2:5)
2) Do not make idols (1 John 5:21)
3) Do not misuse the name of the LORD (1 Timothy 6:1)
4) Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. No command is given to Gentile believers to observe the Sabbath by physically resting. None. No historical example, such as in the book of Acts, either.
5) Honor your father and your mother (Ephesians 6:1–2)
6) Do not murder (Romans 13:9; 1 Peter 4:15)
7) Do not commit adultery (1 Corinthians 6:9–10)
8) Do not steal (Ephesians 4:28)
9) Do not give false testimony (Revelation 21:8)
10) Do not covet (Colossians 3:5)
Both circumcision and Sabbath rest were given as a sign. Both are applied spiritually in the New Testament. Straight from scripture, which you either mock or ignore.
“Jesus made the Sabbath .....for man. “
He rested on the Sabbath. He gave the Sabbath to Israel as a sign for the benefit of all mankind.
All that I’ve said is straight from scripture. I’ve even given it to you to make it easy. And like swine with pearls, you despise it, trample it, and attack the messenger.
>>>The ten commandments reveal our sinfulness. They are not the Gospel of salvation. >>>>
Bingo!! All 10. Jesus made the Sabbath day for man. It’s in the 10 commandments, the largest of the 10. The one that said REMEMBER. So if you commit adultery, it’s a sin, if you steal it’s a sin, if you lie, it’s a sin, if you worship other God’s....it’s a sin, and guess what......if you forget the Sabbath DAY....it’s a sin.
You finally nailed it! The 10 commandments reveal sin. They are not the gospel..ironically, the only one of the 10 with gospel is the Sabbath! It says to come apart before you come apart. God knew we needed the Sabbath. But you have poor Adam working 7 days a week. Now you are saying the 10 commandments reveal sin.
You folks are so mixed up......it’s actually fun to watch.
You sound frightened.
Just look at how controvered this subject about the Sabbath or Sunday was here on this thread. Going on 700 replies. Unprecedented. High emotions, passions, contempt, hate, and unity across almost denominations in contempt for the Sabbath.
So telling, Now imagine the world when it’s all collapsing and everyone is losing everything, economic ruin, earthquakes, crime, wars, even limited nuclear war, billions dying.....just as Jesus said....a time of trouble such as never was.....
The only solution.......turn back to God, like a plane going down....everyone gets religious. And you will have unity on common doctrine....including Sunday.
This amazing statement by Ellen White about this time..what an amazing statement and we saw it right here on this message forum.......wow:
The Great Controversy (about the very end time)
As the Sabbath has become the special point of controversy throughout Christendom, and religious and secular authorities have combined to enforce the observance of the Sunday, the persistent refusal of a small minority to yield to the popular demand will make them objects of universal execration. It will be urged that the few who stand in opposition to an institution of the church and a law of the state ought not to be tolerated; that it is better for them to suffer than for whole nations to be thrown into confusion and lawlessness. The same argument many centuries ago was brought against Christ by the “rulers of the people.” “It is expedient for us,” said the wily Caiaphas, “that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.” John 11:50. This argument will appear conclusive; and a decree will finally be issued against those who hallow the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, denouncing them as deserving of the severest punishment and giving the people liberty, after a certain time, to put them to death. Romanism in the Old World and apostate Protestantism in the New will pursue a similar course toward those who honor all the divine precepts.
They hate God’s 7th-day-Sabbath, and at the time of the MOTB/tribulation, they will channel that hate against Sabbath keepers.
——>While SDA reject all of Paul’s writings, including whereupon he says one day is not more holy than another, they’re unable to reconcile Jesus “working” on the Sabbath, yet remaining sinless.
My pastor “works” on the Sabbath. Not a sin
I work on the Sabbath, caring for the sick as a nurse. Not a sin.
“It is LAWFUL to do good on the Sabbath day”
Reconcile that.
Define “good”
I just gave you two examples.
Define “good”
Establish your legalist premise with a detailed definition in precision.
Once you’ve established the premise, I’ll reply.
You accuse me, you accuse Jesus Christ.
Yeah....NO...HAHAHA
YOU ain’t Jesus.
I know, I know...I’ve heard it before “don’t touch God’s anointed”. Benny Hinn says that too ::snicker::
...but you do avoid the trap question.
So at least you’re smart.
...though blinded by your legalism...just like the Pharisees, for whom Christ reserved His most harsh rebuke.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.”
Legalism is poison and you push that poison through the Ellen White cult, attempting to stumble God’s children.
Read Matthew 18 again. Read it very carefully! He isn’t talking to the world about children! He’s talking to disciples, or those who claim to be such, who stumble his followers (children). The millstone is for those who stumble His repentant converted (notice the word “change” and “become like children” in the text?)
You do that.
So, back to the question, self-proclaimed “Jesus”...
How does your cult define “good”?
...then we’ll talk further.
Until then we’re done here
——>How does your cult define “good”?
No, how does the bible define “good”? THROUGH EXAMPLE.
Every conceivable scenario isn’t addressed. That’s where judgment and wisdom enter. I have many biblical EXAMPLES to guide me in making correct choices. The difference between you and I is that my FIRST thought is obedience to Jesus Christ, out of love for what he did for me on the cross. Christ tells me to keep His 4th commandment, but also to help my fellow man in need, even on the Sabbath, if necessary. Feeding the hungry, visiting or caring for the sick, saving or protecting life, taking my neighbor to the ER, no problem. If it can wait until AFTER the Sabbath, then it will. Otherwise, it will be handled on a case by case basis, using the sound judgment that God gave me (wisdom).
Psalms 111:10The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.
Obeying Christ out of love for Him isn’t LEGALISM. It’s how the bible says we know Him. Those who don’t obey are liars. (you know the text, right?)
Open rebellion to God’s law is no way to go through life. It will end badly for you.
Hebrews 10:16This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
If you accuse me, then you accuse Jesus Christ.
“a decree will finally be issued against those who hallow the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, denouncing them as deserving of the severest punishment and giving the people liberty, after a certain time, to put them to death. Romanism in the Old World and apostate Protestantism in the New will pursue a similar course toward those who honor all the divine precepts.”
Wow. You think you’re going to be martyred for resting on the Sabbath?
Well, maybe you’re right about that. I kind of doubt that particular choice will have that impact, but it is possible. Jesus told His disciples (all of whom were Jewish) to pray their flight would not be on the Sabbath. Personally, I think that was not fully fulfilled in 70 AD. But I do not want to get into a debate over those issues.
I think it’s great if you or others are able and choose to physically rest on the Sabbath and spend that time seeking God. Based on the scriptures, only Jews are bound to this command which is an outward sign of their status as God’s earthly people. And it represents something to emulate. Just like it is wise to eat properly, rest sufficiently, and get some exercise, it’s also beneficial physically to rest beyond just nightly sleep. The Sabbath represents the importance of seeking God first and understanding the rest that Jesus promised those who come to Him.
Contrary to what others may argue, Sunday did not replace the Sabbath. I do believe it is correct that when John referred to the “Lord’s Day” in Revelation he was referring to Sunday, as the day Christ rose. But there was no command to rest on Sunday to Jews or Gentiles.
The week does not occur in nature. In Scripture, man is associated with the number 6 because it is the day he was made. And 7 is associated with the divine. We use a decimal math system because we have ten fingers. Days, months, and years are marked by astronomical events. But the 7-day week exists because of the sign God gave to the Jews.
But on the issue under discussion, the Bible is a very large book with many details and hundreds of commands from God who did not leave us to wander in the dark about what is expected from us. Nowhere does the Bible ever provide a general command for Gentiles to rest on the Sabbath. Gentiles were able to seek God prior to the New Covenant by walking in the light shown to them by His covenant with Israel. Circumcision and Sabbath rest were 2 signs between God and His covenant people. Neither in the Old nor New Testament was anyone saved on the basis of their sufficiently keeping the Law. But those who converted to Judaism practiced these signs. The apostles ruled that Gentiles did not need to convert to Judaism to become followers of Jesus or to be saved. This includes these 2 signs. Neither the scripture nor history from any source supports the claims that you have made.
Light has come to the Gentiles through Israel and the signs of God’s covenant with them. Sabbath is “made for man” and benefits ALL mankind be the light of salvation reaching to all mankind through the witness of the Jews to the Gentiles. The primary and most important way for all men to honor God’s Sabbath rest is to enter into the rest that Christ provides from striving to earn salvation that He paid for and gives freely by grace. Christ did the work so that we could cease from our own and yield to Him to work in us.
He died in our place, as the prophecies of the scriptures foretold. He was buried and rose on the third day, and hundreds of eye-witnessed saw Him after He was raised. The eye-witness testimony is recorded in the scriptures also.
To apply the command to physically rest on the Sabbath to the Gentiles is to deny that this command was a sign to Israel. To make it a requirement of salvation is to deny the Gospel of grace and replace it with a false Gospel.
God writes His laws on the hearts of those who trust in Christ. These laws are more than the ten commandments. God’s law of liberty includes the commands to repent and believe on Christ. It includes the commands to love God and our neighbor. Even Christ’s enemies were able to prioritize physical rest on the Sabbath. They were also circumcised in their flesh. But they were uncircumcised in heart, and they rejected the Lord of the Sabbath. A carnal or unregenerate person can physically rest on the Sabbath, but he or she cannot keep God’s laws, including the command to rest in Christ.
The desire to put Gentile believers in bondage to obey a command that was never given to them to keep (i.e. physical rest on the Sabbath), is to deny that it was a sign between God and His covenant people Israel, and it is a repudiation of the true meaning of the Sabbath for believers who rest in Christ spiritually. Further, when this error is elevated to become part of a way of salvation, those who promote it become cursed by God for preaching a false Gospel.
The many scriptures I have given on this thread have not changed.
