Many greats- love 2 and 22 and William Blake one. B.ake reminds me a bit of Marc Chagall- same dreamlike feel to the paintings. Chagall had many religiously based themes too. His use of color was pretty cool in some of his paintings, lending to a more dreamlike feel to them- it was as though he had a dream, awoke, and painted what he saw in his dreams.
A correlation between Blake and Chagall is a novel idea to me, Bob, especially as they’re both stylistically so unique. Of course, New Testament art by Chagall is rare indeed.
Good Morning Dan, and wishing everyone a happy Tuesday =:^)
Many favorites from which to choose;
#2 Dore (love the displayed ‘details’)
#6 Fugel
#33 Copley
Thank You Dan!
I love Chagall’s style quite a bit, as I do Blake’s style. Their styles are “simple” for sure compared to realistic artists, although they obviously had skill in color, tone, values, composition etc but the atmosphere in their paintings is what grabs my attention- it gives the paintings another dimension almost- something akin to viewing the spirit world I guess. Painting 2 in this thread really evoked that for me too showing a contrast between “the real world” and “the spirit world” in the painting.
Some might assume, Leon, that I create those “details” by carving chunks out of artworks and blowing them up. I wouldn’t know how. I simply stumble across them in my searches, and then—sadly—only rarely.
A magnificent Dore” at #2
#13 Brown - English painter associated with artists of the the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. For a brief time, William Morris was one of his students.
Copley, West, Tissot, Blake.
Thank you, Dan.
So, their styles seem other-worldly, of the spirit-world.
If I were an artist, I cannot imagine not painting Jesus’ ascension, as it is the pinnacle of His earthly ministry.
(see #12, #49, and #51:)
Very prominent in tomorrow’s thread, John: Jesus’ feet take center-stage. I grouped them appropriately.
No, not “of the spirit world”- but rather they have a sense of showing a world that the bible states when it talks about the unseen world where good battles evil- something that we dont see, but which exists (god showed one of the people I.n The Bible the great mu,titude of angels standing on the hillside in defense of the Israelites, which he hadnt seen before god revealed it to him).
Blake and Chagall just had a feeling to,their paintings as though they were depicting what they “thought” the spirit realm might look like- they weren’t drawing “power from the spirits” to paint. There is a distinction.

My choice too. Such a great painting.
Thanks for clarifying your meaning, Bob.
THIS SAME JESUS, who has been taken from you into heaven, WILL COME BACK IN THE SAME WAY you have seen him go into heaven.
Outside and above anyone's particular religious beliefs,
There's a vast, integrated, multi-layered analog in modern times with the mission of Apollo 11/Saturn V. It also links with Apollo 8, Earthrise, and the Genesis reading. And of course the 50th anniversary in 2019, when Apollo 11 had been projected onto the Washington Monument for the big launch.
I've posted bits and pieces over the years. This stuff could fill book after book, yet it's all very simple. It's sure to come out in due time. Sudden revelation, epiphany: when knowledge and understanding flip over and on in an instant.
The multiple selections of artwork here (with Jesus' ascending in a white robe) do add to the "Apollo Effect".
In the meantime,
Here's a very small example from the VLF transmitter (Very Large File), concerning the tabernacle of David that is fallen...
Amos 9:11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
... because here's where it all started, with the development of the Saturn V and its Garden of Cyrus (quincunx) pattern of the engines:
Visiting Marshall
Marshall Space Flight Center
NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center is situated on the U.S. Army's Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Visitors are welcomed at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Marshall's official Visitor Center, which offers public bus tours of Marshall. U.S. Space & Rocket Center visitors can learn more about Marshall's legacy and ongoing work. Interactive exhibits and historic artifacts demonstrate our critical role in supporting the breadth of NASA's exploration and science missions. Visitors will learn how Marshall develops, integrates and manages complex space systems and scientific research projects that continue to yield exciting and innovative scientific discoveries.

For a deep visual perspective, here are a couple of photos from the Wikipedia page:
Google street view even walks inside the Davidson Center, where the visitor is greeted by the engine display overhead, at the base of the... horizontal model. The rocket stages (1, 2, 3) are marked as the teaching route continues onto the Moon, which is encircled by the famous announcement of the ages.
It's like the form of the letter lamed:
A three-stage rocket ship soaring into outer space.
Man's aspiration to understand the universe.A heart of a wise man ascending to comprehend the wisdom of God.
Learning in order to teach, learning in order to do.Divine inspiration; the higher Shechinah.
Prophetic imagination breaking through the limitations of rational intellect.
On that note,
Apollo 11 launched on July 16th, 1969, which was the 1st of Av -- the beginning of the Nine Days that ended on Tisha B'Av with the splashdown of the CM Columbia ("dove").
The 1st of Av is also a key date in Jewish history because 123:
Aaron the first High Priest, brother of Moses and Miriam, passed away at age 123 on the 1st of Av of the year 2487 from creation (1274 BCE). This is the only yahrzeit (date of passing) explicitly mentioned in the Torah (Numbers 33:38).

It's really amazing what sits there right underneath Interstate 565, the Ohr Mashiach, Messianic Light [אור משיח = 565]. There's room to post it all, so I have to leave a lot out.
Read it all, comprehended some. Not sure yet where I should file it—but Thanks, as always.
It's always something!
Not sure yet where I should file it—

Bob, don’t you just love the faces of the angels? All so expressive...
Indeed, that knowledge helps me to confess my sins. Confession is not revealing my sins to Him, because He already knows all about them. Rather, it is agreeing with Him about them.
