The Michigan legislature on Wednesday gave final passage to HB-4006 (full text) which repeals Section 750.14 and 750.15 of the Michigan Penal Code. These sections, which were enacted in 1931, criminalize abortion and require pharmacies to keep records of purchasers of abortion medications and of physicians prescribing them.
The bill now goes to Governor Gretchen Whitmer for her signature. It is expected that she will sign the bill. WZZM13 News reports on the bill. An injunction against enforcement of Section 750.14 had previously been issued by the state Court of Claims (see prior posting) and the section was effectively overridden by a state constitutional amendment guaranteeing reproductive freedom passed by Michigan voters last November.

In 2020, the Michigan legislature was controlled by Republicans. Unfortunately, they were led by RINOs, similar to other swing states (Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, etc.). The RINOs facilitated ‘The Big Steal’ for the Democrats. They refused to fight for their constituents. This had a chilling effect on voter enthusiasm.

Result: The Michigan legislature and executive branch are now controlled by Democrats.
Murder of the unborn is not “reproductive freedom.”
Reproductive freedom also doesn’t mean free from all unwanted consequences or responsibility.
Ask any guy who got spermjacked or had a gal poke holes in the condom, or impregnate herself from what was in the condom. No rights AND no freedom.
Perhaps the new law allows men the freedom to terminate an unwanted pregnancy...

You didn't explain how a sitting governor with lukewarm support got 75,000 more ballots than in 2018 - all while the state was losing population over the 4 years between "elections".
I'll give you a tell: In the Upper Peninsula, the Democrat voters are stalwarts, and rally around the donkey every election cycle.
However, most of the UP counties bled support for Shinyface - negative turnout for her from 2018.
But of course - their ballots aren't worth harvesting up there.

The Assistant Democrats in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania know that they'll easily win their seats in the red districts.
If they hand the legislatures to the Democrats, they get the salary and pension without having work too hard - just pretending to fight with their mouths a few times a year.

they are about to ram thru a bunch of new gun laws in the next few weeks...Michigan goes from one the best gun States to a California type gun State...Michigan has gone blue, and worst of all...is completely run by females now....last week they repealed the “RIGHT TO WORK law”.....total disaster here....

Excellent insights. RINOs wanted to be accepted by the popular kids in high school (Dems in Legislature) rather than stand up for “we the people” who voted for them. Just like the national ones.
However, I know there was rabid enthusiasm to vote for Dems and the abortion enabling proposal. That Roe v Wade leak gave them time to churn it all up. Without that Roe decision many Dems would have stayed home in boredom.
So for Michigan the overturn made it much worse than before.
The Constitutional amendment makes it totally impossible to curtail or stop abortions in Michigan, a new destination state for killing the pre-born.
