The names of the twelve apostles are these:

first, Simon, who is called Peter,
and Andrew his brother;
James the son of Zebedee,
and John his brother;
Philip and
Bartholomew;
Thomas and
Matthew the tax collector;
James the son of Alphaeus, and
Thaddaeus;
Simon the Zealot, and
Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him

Yes, I saw that, but #23 the artist lists Luke and Mark as being of the original Apostles. They were during Paul’s time. It’s a common mistake, when asked people usually respond, “ Well, there’s Matthew, Mark, Luke and John......................

I saw that used on a TV detective show once a long time ago, where the person asking the question was testing the person asked to see if he was a real priest.................

Huh, I wonder...I only see 11 in Tissot's #14.
Is he leaving out Judas (symbolically)?

Best representations: Poussin, Tissot, Rane, Hole and a beautiful Tiffany. In #24, who was the disciple who was skinned alive? Horrendous suffering...

That was my assumption. I’m doing the Twelve during the next three days, and I omitted Judas entirely, in his stead substituting Matthias.

I've read accounts of their martyrdoms: Foxe's Book of Martyrs, of course, and William Steuart McBirnie's The Search for the Twelve Apostles.
