MATTHEW, “FOLLOW ME” |
It’s always good to have a friend in .................................the Tax Office..................
Good Morning, Dan.
Once again, our threads are related.
Coincidence? I think not. :-)
See you in J-Town.
Good Morning Dan, and a cheery ‘Hello’ to all.

We understand that you can’t post each day, but we miss you when you can’t.
Thank you Dan!
So much beauty in these paintings. Of course, Caravaggio (#2) is of great importance. Non only his realism was innovative at the time, but the play of light and dark adds a beautiful and and dramatic effect. The men are dressed in contemporary garments, symbolically depicting the way of the world versus the timelessness of another world. Jesus’ gesture is so direct and compelling that it seems to suspend the action for a moment. The calling of Matthew is also our calling..so simple...so profound..”Follow me”...
Of note, #6; Tissot; Hole; Van Loon, and thank you for the beautiful fenster.
Probably my most favorite Chosen episode is when Matthew witnesses Jesus heal the paralytic that was lowered through the roof.
Matthew the germaphobe transitions into Matthew the believer.
I think Nicodemas also gets a reality check in that episode.
