I wont post it, it is profane, it is a Jesus looking figure praying while standing behind a woman who is naked and has a twitter bird covering her with the label trump of the jesus figure
That picture and that guy does not look like Jesus. He looks like a monk. Be glad it isn’t a guy where the prostitute is.
You are making much more of this than necessary. Way too much. Ignoring it is they way to go.
Context. If you know the history then it’s obvious who it is.
How do you know what Jesus looks like?
you have that person getting ready to have sex
What preparations was the person making prior to having sex?
you very clearly are mocking the mega crowd
What is a "mega crowd"?
I’ve seen an image very much like that and it was Jesus so if this is actually a monk
Monk rhymes with drunk and I think that's you, boo.
Abelard is a very, very good guess, and I thought it had to right (and perhaps it is — see below). As it turns out, the illustration is from “Favole libertine” with 12 illustrations by Milo Manara, inspired by the erotic stories by Jean de La Fontaine”:
I am not familiar with Jean de La Fontaine, so ... maybe one of the stories concerns the story of Abelard being tempted by a trollop. Or maybe it’s just some generic monk.
Whatever, it clearly depicts a monk resisting a female temptress, not Jesus. He is wearing a monk’s robe with knotted cord.
As you can see, this image was very popular among meme makers long before Musk used it:

Manara is predictably a lefty and has responded to Musk:

The things one can learn from TinEye.
Twitter is banned in China.
“Twitter is banned in China.”
Of course. Xi wouldn’t want the lao bai xing to be informed about the rest of the world. TPTB there sure don’t mind taking money from the rest of the world, though.
You are imposing your perceptions on Musk and claiming to be a mind reader if you impute those motivations to him.
I happen to agree with you about those who seem to worship Trump, depictions of Trump as Jesus (or Emperor or God), etc. It is disturbing and distasteful, sometimes even blasphemous. And such depictions mainly emanate from the Q crowd. So consider the source.
The meme Musk posted is what it is: a joke depicting Trump trying to resist Twitter.
The bearded figure is clearly a monk. He is wearing a monk’s robe with knotted cord. Not every guy with a beard wearing a long dress is Jesus. Jesus has never been depicted wearing a monk’s robe with knotted cord as far as I know. Why would anyone depict him as a Medieval monk?
To your mind, the image and your explanation go hand in hand because you are viewing it through the lens of your current (and understandable) outrage at Trump worshippers elevating Trump to Messiah. Reread your post and see how full of outrage it is, how disjointed. We all get so outraged we can scarcely think straight. And I don’t blame for it at all. But that does not mean your interpretation of the meme is correct, either.
As you yourself said, it’s not a monk they worship as their Messiah. And that is very clearly a monk in that illustration. Musk was not mocking Trump worshippers, he was teasing Trump about being tempted to return to Twitter, plain and simple.
Just because you thought the figure was Jesus “at first glance” does not mean it is Jesus or even that it was meant to evoke Jesus in people’s minds. Most of us can tell Jesus from a monk, and know what a monk’s robes look like, especially with the knotted cord making it quite clear.
Yes, as far as “porn factor” goes, I have seen far worse on FR. Check out some of the threads where “eye bleach” is called for and supplied. You’ll find women wearing next to nothing and showing off their assets in very provocative poses. I’ve not seen monks resisting their charms included, though.
So - the man is labeled “Donald trump” - what makes you think it’s Jesus?
Have you a photograph that shows what Jesus really looked like?
Methinks someone doth protest too much.
“Those who admit their mistakes are universally admired.“
That’s true only within the “universe” of honorable people. Dishonorable people neither admit their mistakes, nor admire those who do.
There are no whistleblowers, leaks, scandals or even the hint of corruption during Democrat administrations (only nutcase conspiracy theorists or domestic terrorist insurrections).
Tyrants never have to apologize, retract or resign.
Apparently, this double standard between right and wrong exists at all levels - from micro to macro.
Sad but true. And well said. (Why isn’t there a hats off emoji?)
Thank you! I missed all that and did not know. That was a fun interview! He can be funny and witty and down to earth. And I really liked some of the things he said. I’m starting to like him.
Before, I thought he was just weird, and probably icky, perhaps based on the names he gave his children as I never had any interest in him or his companies, really, and so knew little about him. Well, that’s taught me a lesson. I still disagree with him on global warming, and skeptical of his claim about solar power and batteries. On some other topics, I think he’s spot on.
Thank you again. I appreciate your posting that.
Heloise’s uncle would say Abelard didn’t pray enough.
“I’m not going to retract what I said for the following reason….”
Everyone makes mistakes - but now you are willfully twisting the truth to try and justify your mistake - that is just pathetic.
“Many people think Trump is the messiah. Many people treat Trump as if he’s the second coming of Jesus Christ himself.”
Find me one person who thinks Trump is the messiah. You can’t, because NOBODY thinks that.
