Cameron Bertuzzi, a popular Protestant YouTube host, announced Thursday online that he is in the process of converting to Catholicism.
“So, the big announcement is that on Sept. 20, 2022, I decided to become Catholic. I’m currently in an RCIA program and will be confirmed this coming Easter,” Bertuzzi said in a YouTube video.
His conversion “came at the tail end of a deep study into the evidence for and against the papacy,” he said.
“As a Protestant, I went into the study with an open mind. Ultimately, I told myself that I would follow the evidence wherever it leads, even if that conclusion is uncomfortable for me or for my family,” Bertuzzi said.
His Protestant friends were “very confident” that his study would only confirm his Protestant faith, “but they were wrong,” he said.
“What I found was that the evidence strongly suggests that the papacy is true,” he said.
Bertuzzi, whose Capturing Christianity YouTube channel has just short of 150,000 subscribers, said that he will be speaking about the details of his conversion on other channels, not his own.
Matt Fradd, popular Catholic YouTube host of the channel Pints with Aquinas, “got so excited about this news, as you can imagine, he decided to pay to fly me out to the Vatican, the one in Rome, to detail my journey on his channel,” Bertuzzi shared.
“So, if you’re interested in my reasons for conversion, the impact this decision has had on me and my family, and all the rest, then join Matt Fradd and I live on Pints with Aquinas from the Vatican tomorrow,” meaning Friday, Nov. 18.
Bertuzzi has hosted a multitude of well-known Christians and Catholics on his channel. Among them are Catholic apologists Trent Horn and Jimmy Akin of the apostolate Catholic Answers; Bishop Robert Barron of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester; theologian and professor Scott Hahn; Fradd; and Father Vincent Lampert, an exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
Videos with Barron and Lampert both gained hundreds of thousands of views respectively.

“Heck, we’re not even to play favorites with others here on earth, much less “gods”.”
Outstanding point!
“Mary being a virgin as expected does not set her apart as being any more special or virtuous than the vast majority of women in those days.”
You are so right, to compare the 21st century to the 1st century is uterly reduclas at best.
And so does thou shall worship and SERVE the Lord God only.
Matthew 4:10
Then Jesus saith to him: Begone, Satan: for it is written, The Lord thy God shalt thou adore, and him only shalt thou serve.
Exodus 23:25
25 And you shall serve the Lord your God, that I may bless your bread and your waters, and may take away sickness from the midst of thee.
Greek doulia equals Latin servitus (service)
Oh by the way bowing down is also considered as worship according to Jesus and satan.
Matthew 4:9
And said to him: All these will I give thee, if falling down thou wilt adore me.
So tell me the difference.
rcc’s pray to Mary and their god
rcc’s bow to Mary and their god
rcc’s kneel to Mary and their god
rcc’s offer sacrifice to Mary and their god
rcc’s serve Mary and their god
rcc’s get grace from Mary and from their god
So through all the rc word games of “we only worship God” you do indeed offer service and worship to Mary therefore our Holy Lord and His Holy Word condemns this practice.
Repent of this abomination and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior accepting that you are saved by His glorious grace through faith in Him alone.
“It is... a mystery for sure.”
5and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery: “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”
Only to you romans, but hey smile you will see what the mystery really is soon enough.
“THEOTOKOS”
While Jesus is God in the flesh your simplified answer doesn’t make the truth that simple.
1. Holy Scripture never calls Mary mother of God.
2. Can God die? No He is eternal, Isaiah 40:28 and many others
3. Can or did Jesus die? Yes,1 Cor 15:3
4. Is belief in God alone enough to save your soul? No, John 14:6
Now if your answer was as simple as you implied the answer should be yes, but it’s not.
Mary is not part of the Godhead therefore she is NOT the mother of God. Calling her such would imply her as superior to God because the parent is always before the child and that just isn’t the truth of the Gospel.
Question: “Is Mary the mother of God (Theotokos)?”
Answer: The phrase “mother of God” originated with and continues to be used in the Roman Catholic Church. One of the topics at the Council of Ephesus in AD 431 was the use of the Greek term Theotókos, or “God-bearer,” in reference to Mary. That council officially proclaimed Mary as the “mother of God,” and the doctrine was later included in the Catholic catechism. The idea behind calling Mary the “mother of God” is that, since Jesus is God and Mary is the mother of Jesus, she is the mother of God.
The major problem with this logic is that the term “God” implies the totality of Yahweh, and we know that Yahweh has no beginning and no end (Psalm 90:2). First Timothy 6:15-16 says that God is immortal. Being immortal, God never was “born” and never had a “mother.” The second Person of the Trinity, Jesus, did have a beginning to His earthly ministry when he was conceived in Mary’s womb and was born, but from eternity past He had always been the Son of God.
Philippians 2:6–7 gives us a bit more insight on what transpired when Jesus left heaven to become man. The New Living Translation says, “Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.” Jesus was already one with the Father, but He set aside His rights as Divinity and took the form of a baby (John 1:1). He went on to live the normal life of a Jewish boy, obeying His earthly parents (Luke 2:51).
A mother by definition precedes her child and at some point is more powerful than her child. So to call Mary the “mother of God” gives the misleading implication that Mary preceded and at one time was more powerful than the Lord God Almighty. Although Catholic doctrine tries to deny this implication, it is inescapable.
It is biblical to say that Mary was the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ during His incarnation on the earth. However, Catholics believe it is not enough to say that Mary was the mother of Jesus. Pope John Paul II, in a speech in 1996, encouraged people “not only to invoke the Blessed Virgin as the Mother of Jesus, but also to recognize her as Mother of God” (L’Osservatore Romano, 4 December 1996, p. 11). This is not biblical. The Lord God Almighty has no mother, since He has no beginning and no end (Genesis 1:1; Revelation 4:8).

Heck, it says in Exodus 20:4-5 You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them,……
And all the carved images standing in the front of most Catholic churches that people light candles to and bow down in prayer before, violate this commandment.
For all the hair splitting about definitions of worship and latria, etc, bowing down is bowing down and clearly and plainly seen by the most casual observer. No speculation or rationalizations about whether you are “worshipping” or simply honoring someone, no questions or rationalizations about what is in one’s heart.
Graven images are graven images and bowing down is bowing down.
But considering this is from the same religion that demands its priests be addressed as “Father” in light of Matthew 23 where Jesus says…..” And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.” and engage in Olympic class rationalizations about why it’s OK to disobey a clear, concise command of Jesus like that one, nothing surprises me.
“Then whom do you feel God is referring to?”
Genesis 3:15
I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.
“thee and the woman”
Satan and Eve, read Genesis chapter 3 the characters are all present, the tempter (Satan), the sinner (Eve), and the transgressor (Adam).
“thy seed and her seed”
Antichrist and Lord Jesus Christ
“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.”
Eve, the first sinner will crush Satan’s head through our Lord Jesus Christ by child bearing, 1 Timothy 2:15 and Satan will hurt our Lord Jesus through crucifixion, but only for three days.
Oh, and the pope will be the false prophet and the roman church is the mystery Babylon whore of Revelation.
“Graven images are graven images and bowing down is bowing down.”
I keep asking the question, what is the difference, but not one of the pagans idol worshippers can tell me the difference confirming your comments exactly.
The answer to your first question that ends the paragraph is a RESOUNDING YES.
The Church doctrine is contained in the prayer known as “The Apostles’ Creed.”
For me, as a Catholic, that encompasses what the Church teaches and as a member all of that is what I believe.
Man made laws, opinions, declarations, additions ...are not absolute. Popes come and go...Men come and go, but the basic Church shall not change. Soon we shall have a Pope who believes as I do, probably from Africa, which is great, they seem to be the closest of Catholic teachings at this time.
Regards and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
In God We Trust.
Thank You for sharing that with your reply...
Have a Merry Christmas as well !!1
