MARY TRAVEL TO BETHLEHEM |
Good Morning Dan, and happy Monday to everyone.
Beautiful works; many with a feeling of protective tenderness...
Enjoy Brueghel’s paintings, especially his medieval scenes.
Thank you Dan.

Good Morning, Dan. :-)

Joseph caring for his pregnant bride, I assume.
Yes, we’ll have Christmas in October here....
And I will be playing your "Bethlehem" song.
Good morning, great paintings, all speak of the loneliness of the journey, the hardship of a heavily pregnant Mary, the protective and touching solicitude of Joseph.
Favorites are #17 by John McNaughton; the mosaic at #23 and the Brueghel at #28, the remarkable and versatile artist of the Flemish Renaissance. There is always so much to see in his paintings, here weaving a biblical scene with the life of the village, well balanced in scale, colors and composition.
Thanks, Alba. Always enjoy reading your commentary—it’s a master-class.
Wise Men Still Seek Him. :-)
I was just there the first thing this morning, reading about the fascinating history of the non-kosher Just Born Jewish Peeps, famous for being indestructible.
Dipped in chocolate, there's no stopping those hovercrafts!
"Pitch"... well if you want to keep everyone else from gobbling them up, that would be a great cover/codeword for chocolate.
13 Things You Never Knew About Peeps
There was even that plan that Jonathan and David cooked up to check if Saul wanted to kill David, or what.
In the first book of Samuel:
20:6 If your father should miss me, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city; for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family:
Headquarters: Bethlehem, Pa.
Because from the Food and Wine article:
"The first thing I do when I eat a Peep is bite its head off. Sure, it's rather morbid, but apparently I'm not the only one. According to a 2013 customer survey, nearly two thirds of Peep lovers do the exact same thing and decapitate the poor bird-shaped marshmallow."
What a world!
Wisest Men Still Earnestly Seek Him. :-)
Indeed...but harder to fit into a song. LOL.
He put us first by making Himself last, so the Head would be last.
Ride, boldly ride to the end of the rainbow
Ride, boldly ride 'til you find El Dorado.

What timing, on the original Columbus Day. October 12, 1974: Head (r'osh ראש) also means beginning.
Since 1971 (Oct. 11), the holiday has been observed on the second Monday in October,[23] coincidentally exactly the same day as Thanksgiving in neighboring Canada since 1957. (Wikipedia)
Just born: it never ends (all interconnected) because in 2 Kings 4 is the account in Shunam of the son who died and was restored to life at harvest time. "My head, my head."
16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.
17 And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.
18 And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.
19 And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.
20 And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.
EL DORADO?.......... Nowadays he looks for an Escalade!.................😁😎
