Actually, while both
praying to created beings in Heaven is not scriptural (which is one of many
distinctive RC teachings that are not), nor the liberal Panneton, what the author is demonizing is the masculine militancy of conservatives in a culture war gone hot, and is not so much opposing the Rosary but its use in that war by RadCaths. In which he is quite unhinged.

Actually, while both praying to created beings in Heaven is not scriptural (which is one of many distinctive RC teachings that are not), I'm not sure that it's a "distinctive" RC teaching. I think Orthodox Christians also pray to the saints in Heaven, including to the Virgin Mary.
