Last year, I purchased a Samsung Watch 3 with the 4g LTE phone inside. $349 from Amazon. Nicely paired with my Samsung Android phone. Beautiful watch. One problem. The sensor uses some laser LEDs to measure pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation. It generated a 2nd degree burn on my arm. Apparently, the same happened to many other watch owners. Before I could resolve the issue with Samsung, they came out with Watch 4. The problem is inherent to the sensor system. Not fixable. The watch requires charging daily. I keep it for "dress" wear. Fancy "jewelry" to wear with fancy clothing for special occasions. Incidents of special occasions are exceedingly rare. The watch excels at dust collection.
My wife bought me one of those for Christmas some years ago, but I have never been able to figure out how to make the analog hands match the digital time inset. I’d probably wear it if not for that, but as it is I just keep it around to set my cheap Casio by every few months.
I don’t have that problem with my Apple Watch. I’m not gloating, it’s just that these things cost so much money, you think they would have the bugs ironed out, but no, “get em on the market and sell em” and worry about the bugs later.
My watch was a gift.
