Man, he’s like butt naked in almost all of them!
Some believe that the story of Job is an allegory for the nation of Israel....................
The sores were all over everywhere.
That’s fine, as long as they don’t allegorize Job out of actual existence.
As long as Israel exists, Job exists........................
If A, then B.
It could very well be an allegory for us, as well…
Well done. I like #1 very much. As for Job’s naked body it had to show the sores covering his body to make the wanted impression. Poor Job endured his suffering with patience but he too at times shouted at God. Very human reaction in a wonderful man of great faith.
He suffered everything just so that God could win a bet with the devil.
It’s been over 4,000 years since Job lived (and finally met his Redeemer!), and yet even today he still sets the benchmark for long-suffering endurance.
If that is truly your take, then you misunderstand fundamentally the whole of the Bible and of God.
At the micro level, yes, to win a bet with the devil. However, the macro level is the important one. Millions of believers over the last 4000 years have taken comfort, learned knowledge, wisdom and patience from the Book of Job. God used Job to educate and enlighten untold numbers of people going through whatever painful episode in their life was occurring.
The small amount of time that Job suffered, in view of the eternity of time he will enjoy as a child of God, is not comparable. Romans 8:18
#18 could be titled, Morning Movement.
So, she was a Chagall devotee? LOL
It lacks a newspaper.
Good Morning, Dan. :-/
You’re :-/sad at Job’s suffering. Typical female response. Guys are just hollering, “Suck it up, Buttercup!”
