——>While I would say, it probably would have been best, not to get near the tree, God never said not to touch the tree. He said, don’t eat of it.
Not exactly:
Gen 3:3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And then I saw post 548...
Not exactly, eh? Try this on for size.
Gen 2:17, But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
That’s what God said. It’s not brain surgery.
Gen 3:3. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
That’s what Eve said. If I have to make a choice between what God said, and what Eve said, I will choose to believe what God said, and not one single word, said they shouldn’t touch the tree, though I DO believe it probably would have been better if they didn’t. Also, Eve said, lest ye die. Horse hockey, bro, He said, THAT SHALT SURELY DIE. Big difference bro.
By the way, just so you know, I generally don’t read your posts, especially if they are longer than two sentences. So, if you want to post to me, be brief, even briefer, or I just skip right over it.
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Eve was NOT around yet when GOD told Adam about the tree. We can speculate over many things NOT in the bible but lets not confuse ourselves over the things that ARE recorded.
