As I understand scriptures the Nephilim were the offspring between human females and fallen angels. But there was much more genetic manipulation happening back then.

That’s the way I understand it too bro. I always wondered how the fallen angels ever got the human women to do sex with them. Someone said the human race had become so corrupt, the people were seeking relationships with fallen angels. That’s how the Nephilim came about.
I do agree, that there was much more evil going on. I think genetic manipulation, might have produced evil things like the Minotaurs, Centaurs, unicorns and mermaids, to name a few. I think the Flood happened, to wipe out the Nephilim, but also to wipe out these hideous genetic monsters.
I think genetic manipulation is going on now too.
