Lots of good artwork.
I especially like #9 except, “Really? Did Samson dress like that?” The bed sheet detracts from what I would consider an amazing work of art.
I agree. NO ONE dresses like that. An artistic hallucination.
Here, kitty, kitty...
The point is there used to be lions running around in the wilderness in the Levant and Sinai.....
Yes, oft-mentioned in Scripture.
I wonder if they were a different species that is now extinct?...................
Be careful what you wish for....
As you said yesterday, you can ask Samson.
Like having a tiger by its tail?
SHOULD BE EASY TO SPOT. JUST LOOK FOR A GUY WITH A BAD HAIRCUT...................
You’re jumping ahead in the saga. Patience, grasshopper..........................
Once acquired, dare not release........................
Very powerful paintings, illustrations and stained glass windows. #9 grabs the attention. Hayez was a distinguished 19th c. artist, his most famous work is “The Kiss” but he made some fine portraits too besides historical paintings.
I also like #30, the stone sculpture.
Thanks, Alba. Every Hayez seems interesting to me—there is something vibrant and arresting in his style.
A study of the etchings is, as usual, quite instructive. The ancients certainly wielded a patient hand.
You are right to marvel at their patience and diligence—I am always astounded by it. It is certainly a gifting which I do not possess.
Good Morning, Dan.
And I thought Wrasseling Alligators was tough!
