With humility, hope and joy, a 17 member body of theologically conservative Methodist clergy and laity, known as the Transitional Leadership Council, is pleased to announce the Global Methodist Church will officially launch on May 1, 2022.

The UMC has responded to pleas for an amicable separation of ways with deceit and underhandedness.

Lest it be misunderstood, this split is due to the UMC rejecting scriptural, historic Christianity and attempting to replace it with secular situationalism.

I resigned from the UMC many years ago because I was not willing to accept the humanist, worldly discipline of the bishop and his cabinet.

All true, but that only came about because of the rejection of the authority of Scripture. Those who keep His Word don’t accept such sin.

I wish them well, but couldn’t they have chosen a different launch date than May Day? (Of course, there are those who disapprove of pagan holidays being appropriated by Christianity, although there were historical reasons for that IIRC.)

I agree. Trying to lay the secular "liberal-conservative" paradigm onto Biblical Christianity doesn't really work.

Thanks. I’d asked, on a thread about this, yesterday, which of the three (?) new groups would be the most traditional/conservative. I can’t tell, from what I’m able to find, between Free Methodists and Global, who he one of those may be.

It looks like Free Methodists have their organization act better planned…better website, info, etc.

Do you happen to know?
