The Diocese of Phoenix said 'all of the baptisms he has performed until June 17, 2021, are presumed invalid'
"The issue with using ‘We’ is that it is not the community that baptizes a person, rather, it is Christ, and Him alone, who presides at all of the sacraments, and so it is Christ Jesus who baptizes," Olmsted said.

because they were told to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
Some would say “baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. That would make you wrong? Jesus received Johns baptism. What do we do with that?
We have a lot of human ideas about baptism. And that is ok if our hearts are right. But we should be more concerned about what God says about baptism.
Pauls question of “which baptism” is a proper question.
Act_11:16 Then I thought of the Lord’s words when He said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
.................and that does not mean only speaking in tongues
There is much to think about in that verse and echos into the totality of Gods Word. Are there connections to the New Covenant, the tearing of the curtain from top to bottom ,being born again, and more................
“Jews did not practice baptism as Catholicism does.”
True, not AS Christians do, but actually, Jews DID baptize converts. Google Jewish Proselyte Baptism.
NO is shorter.
and no less immaterial
Where the hell did those 15 Blasphemies comes from?
I quit an elite chorus in the ‘80s because ones of the pieces was “Ave Maria”.
...baptism just appears?
Ya been to one, you’ve been to them all.
:::Finally, what is the something more baptism adds that the death of the creator of the universe just could not accomplish?:::
The Lord writing by the pen of Paul teaches that at baptism we are moved into the church, the congregation of saved.
Romans 6:3 Know ye not that so many of us that *were baptized into Jesus Christ* were baptized into his death.
Nowhere is it written that we are believed into Christ, that we are repented into Christ, that we are confessed into Christ.
Those who hold the position that faith alone saves are teaching that Christ (I suppose) saves people outside the church.
Between May and October 1917, Lúcia and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto reported visions of a luminous lady,
who they believed to be the Virgin Mary, in the Cova da Iria fields outside the hamlet of Aljustrel, near Fátima, Portugal.[10]
Beautiful song with a haunting melody.
POOF!!

Don’t know anything about POOF!!

:::See the important story of Acts 10:48 when Peter insisted Cornelius and his entire house be Baptized.:::
I presume your reference to Cornelius was to infer that surely there were children in the family who were also present. Since scripture says that they were baptized, it logically follows that infants were baptized. Some questions are raised.
Acts 19:33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
Q: Did infants hear all things that are commanded thee of God?
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Q: Did the infants hear the word?
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Q: Did the infants speak in tongues?
Were the infants immersed?
Re: Peter’s sermon on Pentecost.
Did infants ask, “What must we do?”
Were infants baptized to receive forgiveness of sins as Peter said on Pentecost? If sin is the transgression of the law, what transgressions have infants done?
Paul, in Romans speaks about this: Romans 9:11
(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
Paul says unborn children have not sinned; therefore, don’t need forgiveness of sins (sins that they don’t have.)
In one Catechism I read that, “If faith is a work of God, why can’t he work faith in a child?” QED: Infant baptism. Signed, Sealed and Delivered. One person responded, “Then why can’t God work faith in a dog, or a tree, or a stone.? Logically, it follows that we should baptize dogs, trees and stones.
The Old Testament teaches that the children do not inherit the sins of their parents.
Romans 6:3 teaches that unborn children have not sinned. They have done “neither good nor evil.”
Thus, children are sinless until they grow to an age of accountability, a time when they know good from evil and can choose.
As we stand before the Lord in Revelation 20 giving an account of our deeds, one of our deeds will NOT be Adam’s sin.
The melody is beautiful. Just couldn’t bring myself to say the words.
:::The first part translate literally to say “symbolizes,” then it adds by good conscience, which is saying by your faith and lastly credits the resurrection for salvation.:::
The symbolism refers to type and anti-type. (I think this type of prophecy is found only in the Bible.)
A type is an event in the past that occurs “in like figure” later.
The types of baptism are (1) Noah, whom Peter refers to, (2) the Exodus. The anti-type is baptism.
Why are they a “like figure”? The “before”, the “middle” and the “after” are similar.
Noah: trapped in a very sinful world with no way out — then water (the flood) — then free in a pristine sinless (for a moment or two) world.
Exodus: Trapped as slaves by Pharaoh with no way out — then water (the Red Sea) — then free to be a nation which God would lead.
Baptism: Trapped in sin with no way out — Then water (baptism by immersion) — then free of all past sins and free to serve Christ.
The symbolism does not reflect back to the moment one believes. Peter clearly reflects back to Noah and nothing other than Noah. When you are confronted with some examples of baptism, think of a before, a middle and an after, say, the apostles who received a baptism of the special gift of the Holy Spirit, or Jesus when asking the disciples if they can be baptized with the baptism He will be baptized with.
....Catholic teaching says that children under the age of 7 cannot COMMIT any sin, but EVERYONE is born with ORIGINAL SIN!
What religion are you? I know you won't answer except to say Christian, but what kind of Church do you attend?
:::Baptism is not a magic formula used to manipulate something out of God that He freely lavishes on us in Christ. :::
In baptism we are not MAKING God do anything; we are LETTING God save us.
