It’s an operetta, written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber when they were in college.
I have an original album. It was not as well known as the “Jesus Christ Superstar” collaboration, but has since gained popularity among small theater groups and even church productuctions, mainly because it is short and doesn’t take a lot of time to produce.
