It still is interesting to me how similar so many of these are. Like they were all copying from the same person.

Although there are many great paintings, my favorite is #1 by Jan Mostaert. He was famous for his religious compositions and portraits. In this painting, he includes various vignettes related to this story: Sarah looking out of the door to see Abraham expel Hagar; into her journey an angel appears to Hagar to provide water and comfort. Also in the distance, on the hilltop, the scene of the sacrifice of Isaac.

One of the fun things abut LA is the nearby 7,000' mountain resorts, just ninety minutes away: Big Bear and Idyllwild. We've rented cabins amidst the snow quite often, but it never actually snows while we're there.

And then in the summer when it's hot, we go back to cool off at Big Bear Lake.
