Although there are many great paintings, my favorite is #1 by Jan Mostaert. He was famous for his religious compositions and portraits. In this painting, he includes various vignettes related to this story: Sarah looking out of the door to see Abraham expel Hagar; into her journey an angel appears to Hagar to provide water and comfort. Also in the distance, on the hilltop, the scene of the sacrifice of Isaac.
