THERE ARE VERY FEW PEOPLE IN THE BIBLE WHOSE RIGHTEOUSNESS IS AS HIGHLY-TOUTED AS IS NOAH'S:

"Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God." Genesis 6:9

"The Lord said to Noah, "I have found you righteous in this generation."" Genesis 7:1

"…if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord." Ezekiel 14:14

"By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith." Hebrews 11:7

"Noah, a preacher of righteousness"

AND YET, THE BIBLE HASTENS TO ADD: NOAH WAS NOT PERFECT.

G E N E S I S
CHAPTER 9, VERSES 20-29

Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, HE BECAME DRUNK AND LAY UNCOVERED inside his tent. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father’s nakedness.

When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.”

He also said, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem. May God extend the territory of Japheth; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his slave.”

After the flood Noah lived 350 years. Altogether, Noah lived 950 years, and then he died.

Always a visual delight to see the work of Ghiberti, #23 - Panel from the door of the Florence Baptistery, gilded bronze, 15th c. Today it is simply called the Door to Paradise (Porta del Paradiso) after Michelangelo, deeply impressed by Ghiberti’s work, said it was worthy to be at the entrance of Paradise. Of course there are other explanations for the name but not as popular as Michelangelo’s.

What tree did Eve eat from? Surely not an apple tree. Jewish tradition is either pomegranate, Citron, or grapes. Of the opinion of grapes, the mystics say Noah was trying to elevate the “impurity” she caused through grapes....and failed.

Note that the New Covenant scriptures record that Christ took a Nazarite vow at His last supper,and had that vow broken with the vinegar, and His own death, as the Passover Lamb..
Then rose the 3rd day as First Fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

He did reverse the curse from the garden. And lives forever more!
And restored a spiritual garden.
A garden, btw, that Satan was also allowed to corrupt again..

You were discussing Noah’s failure.

I was discussing who didn’t fail reversing the curse of the garden..
Through the Nazarite vow and His death, burial and resurrection.

I don’t have any problem seeing the Tree of Life as a picture of an olive tree.
Or the tree of knowledge of good and evil being a picture of a grape..

The text assumes it’s obvious to readers that this incident occurred long after the Flood, thus emphasizing how difficult it was to find grounds for impugning Noah’s character. But Moses and the Spirit were determined to do so, in order to demonstrate conclusively Noah’s imperfection.
