#60, Ambrosius Benson - the similarity with Gerard David’s painting of yesterday is striking. Not surprising as Benson was a pupil of David and was greatly influenced by him. He has created some wonderful portraits and religious scenes.
#62 - I like this very much. I like its spirituality and the purity of form. A very different style from a 19th c. artist.
Maerten de Voss number 63 was done for the Tavern Keepers Guild of Antwerp with many members of the Guild in the painting. I get a kick out of the whole patrons having themselves put in the painting thing.
Beautiful selection, especially the stained glass.
