I grew up in a very small southern town in the 60’s.
There were 4 churches, Baptist, Methodist, Church of God and Church of Christ, in order of congregation size.
The Methodists got a new young preacher one time and he set out to start a Boy Scout Troop there, because his kids had been in the Boy Scouts at his old church.
There were no other children to show up on the day he announced it’s start.
Why?
Because the Baptists and others wouldn’t send their kids to it because the Methodists ran it................
And Satan danced a jig—oh, wait, Baptists disapprove of dancing................
